State Farm Mutual is paying a one-time $5 billion dividend to qualifying personal auto policyholders who had coverage during 2025. The payment is not a current-policy discount, and you do not need to still be insured with State Farm. Check eligibility, payment instructions, and timing through State Farm’s official dividend page.
Who qualifies for the State Farm dividend?
You may qualify if you had a State Farm Mutual personal auto policy active at any point in calendar year 2025 and your calculated dividend is at least $10. You do not have to be a State Farm customer now. Eligibility is based on the policy and premium history, not on whether you hold a policy in 2026. State Farm’s FAQ provides the current terms.
How much will you receive?
State Farm says each qualifying policy’s dividend is calculated as 4% to 10% of the premium paid in 2025, with the percentage depending on the state. The company’s February 26, 2026 announcement described the payment as averaging about $100 per vehicle; that is an average, not a guaranteed amount for an individual customer. Your payment can vary with your state and the premium paid on the qualifying policy. State Farm’s announcement also says the $5 billion is being distributed across more than 49 million State Farm Mutual auto vehicles.
How to claim or receive the payment
State Farm describes two delivery routes, based on whether it has an email address on file. Follow the instructions you receive, and use the company’s official page to reach the payment portal.

- If State Farm has your email address: Look for instructions from Verita to log in to the payment portal. There, you can choose digital payment or a check.
- If State Farm does not have your email address: State Farm says a check will be mailed automatically.
Start at State Farm’s dividend page for the payment portal and official updates. You can also call 1-888-808-9532 for help with status or timing.
When will the dividend arrive?
State Farm says it began issuing payments on July 31, 2026, with notices and payments going out in waves organized by state and policy assignment. The announcement does not establish a delivery date for each individual customer. Check the official portal or call 1-888-808-9532 for state-specific timing and your payment status. How to avoid dividend-payment scams
State Farm says it will not call asking for information about this 2026 dividend and warns customers about lookalike phone numbers and websites. Do not assume an unsolicited email or text is legitimate. Instead, navigate to State Farm’s official dividend page yourself or verify details by calling the listed number, 1-888-808-9532. The company’s dividend information identifies sfdividend.com as its payment portal.

The dividend is a separate, one-time payment based on State Farm Mutual’s 2025 auto-business results, not a credit against your current premium. State Farm’s announcement separately reported a 10% average auto-rate reduction in 40 states and $4.6 billion in annual premium savings. Those companywide figures describe rate changes, not an individual customer’s dividend or savings. A future premium depends on your policy and renewal terms.
