The 39,481 figure was the cycle’s tentative vacancy total, not a current opening or a count of appointments.
SSC GD Constable 2025 deadline: the dates have passed
SSC opened online applications on 5 September 2024. The application form had to be submitted by 14 October 2024 at 11:00 PM, and the separate fee-payment deadline was 15 October 2024 at 11:00 PM. The correction window ran from 5 to 7 November 2024. SSC’s 5 September 2024 notice specified online applications only.
There is no way to apply now to the 2025 cycle. Candidates looking for a current opportunity should check SSC’s official notices for the relevant later recruitment cycle and use that cycle’s dates and vacancy notice; the 2025 deadline and vacancy count do not carry forward.
What the 39,481 vacancy figure means
SSC’s force-wise consolidated table listed 39,481 tentative vacancies for the 2025 examination. It comprised 35,612 male and 3,869 female vacancies. These are vacancies reported for that recruitment cycle, not a confirmed current opening total or a number of people ultimately appointed. The breakdown appears in SSC’s tentative vacancy document.

How the 2025 recruitment cycle proceeded
Applying was only the first step. SSC’s notice described a multi-stage selection process:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical examination
- Document verification
The CBE result was declared on 17 June 2025. SSC later reported that 394,121 candidates were shortlisted for PET/PST, which was conducted from 20 August to 15 September 2025. The PET/PST result write-up, published on 13 October 2025, shortlisted candidates for the medical examination and document verification stage. Final result and candidates with withheld results
SSC declared the final result on 15 January 2026. Its final-result write-up lists 4,817 female and 43,296 male candidates provisionally recommended for appointment. It also reports that 2,003 candidates’ results were withheld because of court orders or suspected malpractice, and that 345 debarred candidates’ results were not processed. SSC states that it does not prepare a reserve or waiting list.
In a notice dated 9 February 2026, SSC said the withheld results had been sent in a sealed cover to CRPF, the nodal force, for further proceedings and verification as required. That notice does not establish the individual outcome of every withheld case. See SSC’s withheld-result notice.

For the candidates specified in its marks notice, SSC made final marks available from 16 February 2026 at 6:00 PM through 1 March 2026 at 6:00 PM. That access window has ended; the dates and eligible group are set out in the SSC final-marks notice.
