What was the SSC CHT 2025 deadline?
The online application window ran from 5 June through 26 June 2025. Applicants had until 23:00 on 26 June to submit the form and until 23:00 on 27 June to pay the fee. The correction window was 1–2 July 2025. All these dates are historical; none is an available application or correction opportunity now. SSC’s 2025 examination notice set out the schedule, and the Press Information Bureau announcement also reported the deadline.
What did the 437 vacancies cover?
SSC described the figure as “approx. 437 vacancies” and said the firm number would be determined later. It was a tentative total across multiple post codes, not a confirmed number of JTO openings. The notice also said the Commission does not collect state-wise or zone-wise vacancy figures.

These are the pay-matrix scales published in the notice, not estimates of take-home pay. The Commission’s 2025 notice describes the examination as a Group B, non-gazetted open competitive examination. Vacancy allocations by state or zone were not collected by SSC.

Who was eligible?
Eligibility depended on the post code. For the junior translator/JTO posts in codes A–C, the notice required a recognized university master’s degree in one of its specified Hindi-and-English subject or examination-medium combinations. Applicants also needed either a recognized diploma or certificate in translation, or two years of Hindi-to-English and English-to-Hindi translation work in a central or state government office, including a government undertaking.
The CRPF Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) post had additional requirements, including physical standards. The notice gave an age range of 18–30, with different crucial dates for CRPF and other posts and category-based age relaxations. Because qualifications, age calculation and physical standards are post-specific, applicants should use the full SSC 2025 notice and verify the exact post code rather than relying on a general summary.

What was the application fee?
The fee was ₹100. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and eligible ex-servicemen candidates were exempt under the notice. The fee-payment period ended on 27 June 2025; these fee and exemption details do not reopen the closed application window.
What did the examination test?
The 2025 selection examination had two papers, each scheduled for two hours. Paper I was a computer-based objective test in General Hindi and General English. Paper II was descriptive, testing translation and essay writing.

The notice included extra-time provisions for eligible candidates using a scribe. It is the controlling source for the applicable conditions and the current scheme should be checked for later examination cycles.
What the format means for preparation
- Practise objective questions in both General Hindi and General English; Paper I covers both and penalizes wrong answers.
- Build regular Hindi-to-English and English-to-Hindi translation practice, rather than focusing only on grammar or vocabulary.
- Include timed essay writing for Paper II’s descriptive component.
- Check that any preparation book or practice material matches the relevant year’s notice and syllabus. A Hindi-English translation practice book can support practice, but no particular book is official or endorsed by SSC.
Where does the 2025 recruitment stand?
The application and written-exam stages are in the past, but the available official notices do not establish a final result for every post as of 8 October 2026. SSC’s 4 June 2026 notice said the Paper I result was declared on 4 November 2025 and that 3,642 candidates had been shortlisted for Paper II, which took place on 14 December 2025. It announced CRPF PET/PST shortlisting based on Paper II and said final results for the CRPF post and remaining posts would follow completion of PET/PST. SSC’s notice-board listing later showed an August 2026 notice asking recommended 2025 candidates to appear for CRPF PST. Check the SSC website and current notice board for the latest post-specific result notices before relying on a final-status claim.

Do not confuse the 2025 and 2026 cycles
SSC held a separate Combined Hindi Translators Examination in 2026. Its application window ran from 23 April to 14 May 2026, with a deadline of 14 May, and its notice listed 84 tentative vacancies. That cycle is also closed. The 84 figure and 2026 dates are not revisions to the 2025 notice’s approximate 437 vacancies or its June 2025 application window. SSC later posted a tentative answer-key update for the 2026 cycle; check the Commission’s current notices for updates.
