Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere opened in fourth place at the U.S. and Canada box office over Oct. 24–26, 2025. It was initially estimated at $9.1 million, but Box Office Mojo later listed the opening at $8,887,255. “Underwhelming” is a judgment, not an official box-office category; the chart position and later performance provide the clearest context.
What was the film’s domestic opening?
The Associated Press reported a $9.1 million Friday–Sunday estimate for the U.S. and Canada, based on studio-reported figures released by Comscore. The AP placed the film fourth for the Oct. 24–26 weekend and noted that final domestic figures were due Monday. Associated Press
Box Office Mojo’s later release page lists the opening as $8,887,255 across 3,460 theaters, also ranking it fourth. Its listed opening average is $2,568 per theater. These are later database figures, not the contemporary estimate reported by AP. Box Office Mojo
Why are two opening figures reported?
The figures reflect different reporting stages: $9.1 million was the weekend estimate reported around Oct. 26, while $8,887,255 is Box Office Mojo’s later-listed total for the same Oct. 24–26 opening. The AP explicitly described its figure as an estimate and said final numbers would follow. The two amounts should therefore be attributed to their respective sources rather than treated as competing figures from the same update.

- Jeremy Allen White stars in this intimate film about the making of Bruce Springsteen’s acoustic album “Nebraska.” On the cusp of global superstardom, the young musician struggles to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. “Nebraska” marked a pivotal time in the Boss’s life and is considered one of his most enduring works.
What does “underwhelming” mean in this case?
The film’s fourth-place debut is a clear measure of its position, but the word “underwhelming” depends on the benchmark. ScreenDollars’ Oct. 26 newsletter put the domestic opening at $9.1 million and compared it with A Complete Unknown, which opened to $11.7 million. That is a same-market opening comparison, not proof on its own that Springsteen failed to meet a particular target. ScreenDollars
ScreenDollars also reported a $50 million production budget. That figure is the trade publication’s report, not an audited studio disclosure in the cited material, so it should not be treated as a confirmed cost or used by itself to calculate whether the film was profitable. The available box-office figures do not establish marketing costs, distribution terms, or the studio’s break-even point.

How does the international opening compare?
Disney UK reported a £1.307 million opening weekend in the UK and Ireland, where the film debuted at number one on Oct. 27, 2025. That result has a different currency, territory, and chart context from the U.S. and Canada figures; it should not be added to or used interchangeably with the domestic opening. Disney UK Press
