Spinny has acquired 100% of GoMechanic’s operating company, Service Easy Technology Private Limited, according to transaction counsel Argus Partners. The $160 million figure in the original headline referred to a reported plan for a Series G round in December 2025—not a final, officially announced financing amount. Later accounts described the round as $160–170 million or approximately $170 million.
Did Spinny acquire GoMechanic?
Yes. On March 9, 2026, Argus Partners said it advised Spinny on acquiring a 100% stake in Service Easy Technology Private Limited, GoMechanic’s operating company. Its April 17 update also described Spinny as having acquired GoMechanic. Khaitan & Co separately identified the transaction and GoMechanic’s business areas in a March 13 matter summary.
That confirmation updates the December 2025 news peg, which described an intended acquisition while the financing was still being reported as a plan.
How much was Spinny raising?
Reports described the Series G at different stages and with different levels of certainty. They should not be collapsed into one exact figure or treated as a published term sheet.

| Source and date | What it reported | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| TechCrunch, December 13, 2025 | About $160 million; about $1.8 billion post-money valuation; nearly $90 million in primary capital, including about $44 million already wired by Accel. | Reported estimates and deal details attributed to people familiar with the matter. The round was described as planned, and the valuation was an estimate. |
| The Economic Times, February 14, 2026 | $160–170 million, with $90 million of primary capital and secondary share sales by early investors. | Follow-up reporting described the round as closed. |
| Argus Partners, April 17, 2026 | Approximately $170 million. | Transaction counsel’s description of the Series G; its update did not publish a definitive term sheet. |
Primary capital is money raised by the company; secondary sales are transactions in which existing shareholders sell shares. TechCrunch’s sources said the planned round would fund the GoMechanic acquisition and investment in its platform without using Spinny’s existing cash reserves. Those details were attributed to unnamed sources, rather than announced financing terms.
What is known about the acquisition price?
Moneycontrol initially reported an expected deal valued at around ₹450 crore and structured as cash and stock. The Economic Times later described the completed acquisition as a ₹450-crore cash-and-stock deal. Argus Partners confirmed the 100% acquisition but did not state the final purchase price or how consideration was allocated. The ₹450-crore figure and structure are therefore press-reported terms, not details independently confirmed in the counsel announcement.

Why does GoMechanic fit Spinny’s business?
Spinny’s core business is buying and selling used cars. The original funding report said it sold about 13,000 used cars a month, operated reconditioning centers, and relied on third-party service shops for after-sales servicing. GoMechanic could extend Spinny into maintenance after a car is sold, using its network of third-party garages. It could also bring car owners who are not yet Spinny customers into the company’s broader services.
Argus describes GoMechanic as aggregating repair and maintenance through third-party garage providers, as well as sourcing and distributing automobile spare parts and accessories on a business-to-business basis. Its announcement says the acquisition enables Spinny to enter after-sales maintenance and expand consumer services. These statements explain the strategic rationale; they do not establish that integration has produced measurable gains.
