How to read the SPBYCAP chart
Price return versus total return
SPBYCAP is the Bloomberg ticker for the price-return index. SPBYCAT is the Bloomberg ticker for the total-return version. Those are different return measures; make sure the chart selection matches the question you are asking, and do not compare one with the other as if they were the same series.
Currency and observation date
S&P calculates the index at end of day in Argentine pesos (ARS). A chart point is meaningful only with its observation date: the level cited above is September 14, 2026, and should not be carried forward to a later date. If comparing this benchmark with another index, align the observation dates, currency, and return basis.

How the index is weighted and maintained
The index uses float-adjusted market-cap weighting, is calculated at end of day in ARS, and is rebalanced annually in March, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices. It launched on October 7, 2019, with a first value date of January 11, 2019. S&P identifies the pre-launch history as hypothetical back-tested performance rather than actual index performance.
Constituents and concentration
S&P’s index characteristics showed six constituents, with the largest constituent representing 82.5% of the index and the top ten representing 100.0%. The official data available here does not establish the names or individual weights of the current constituents, so the concentration figures should not be used to infer which companies are included.
