Skipper Limited’s revised Odisha GST show-cause notice proposes ₹40,95,59,214 (about ₹40.96 crore), down from an earlier proposed ₹2,27,53,28,966 (about ₹227.53 crore). The revised figure is a proposal, not a final tax liability or an order requiring payment. Skipper says it disputes the demand.
What changed in the two notices?
ScanX, reporting on Skipper’s company and stock-exchange disclosure, says the Assistant Commissioner Office of State Tax (GST), Bhubaneswar II, Odisha, issued a rectified show-cause notice dated 1 October 2026. It carries reference number MA211026001510Z and replaces an original notice dated 30 September 2026, reference ZD210926037570H. The company reportedly disclosed the development to stock exchanges on 2 October 2026 under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
| Notice | Date and reference | Proposed amount | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original | 30 September 2026; ZD210926037570H | ₹2,27,53,28,966 (about ₹227.53 crore) | Supplanted by the rectified notice, according to ScanX’s account of the disclosure. |
| Rectified | 1 October 2026; MA211026001510Z | ₹40,95,59,214 (about ₹40.96 crore) | Proposed in a rectified show-cause notice; not a final adjudication. |
The lower proposed figure is a revision to the notice amount. By itself, it does not establish a realized saving, a settled tax liability, or the final outcome of the dispute.
Why was the proposed amount revised?
ScanX reports that the original notice cited discrepancies among GSTR-1, GSTR-2A and GSTR-3B and was issued under Section 73 of the CGST/OGST Act, 2017. The detailed rectified notice text was not available in the retrieved company investor-relations materials, so the specific reason for changing the amount cannot be independently established from that filing text here. The reported figures show the change, but do not explain its calculation or resolve the underlying tax issue.

Does Skipper have to pay ₹40.96 crore?
The available account describes ₹40.96 crore as a proposed amount in a show-cause notice, not a final demand established through adjudication. Skipper says it wholly disputes the revised proposal, considers it based on erroneous findings and an incorrect appreciation of facts and applicable legal provisions, and intends to pursue appropriate legal remedies. Those are the company’s stated position; they do not determine the authority’s or a court’s eventual decision.
ScanX also reports that Skipper said the proposed amount is not an ascertained liability or expected financial outflow and that the matter has no material impact on its financial position, operations or other activities. These are company statements, not an independent finding about eventual exposure.

What is known about the disclosure?
The event details and amounts above are attributed to ScanX’s report of the company and exchange disclosure. Skipper’s investor-relations index lists GST-related Regulation 30 disclosures, including an item labeled “GST Order,” but the retrieved index content does not provide the detailed October rectified-notice announcement. Skipper describes its businesses as transmission and distribution infrastructure, EPC services and polymer solutions; the notice is therefore a corporate tax matter concerning the industrial company.
