Forbes reported on December 30, 2025, that Beyoncé had become the fifth musician to reach billionaire status, joining Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen. Forbes says music—especially her catalog and touring—accounts for most of her wealth. Its live profile displayed a $1 billion net-worth estimate on October 4, 2026; that is Forbes’s estimate, not an audited balance sheet disclosed by Beyoncé.

What the “fifth musician billionaire” claim means

The ranking comes from Forbes’s December 30, 2025 report, which named Beyoncé after Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen. The Guardian also reported Forbes’s claim on December 30, 2025. These reports establish the claim and the names in the group; they do not provide same-date valuations for all five that would support a current comparative ranking.

Forbes’s Beyoncé profile is a live estimate rather than a fixed figure. It showed $1 billion as of October 4, 2026. Net worth is an estimate of assets minus liabilities, not a measure of how much cash someone has or how much they earned in a particular year. The Forbes reporting reviewed here does not publish an itemized balance sheet or a calculation readers can reproduce, so the figure should be attributed to Forbes rather than presented as a disclosed, audited fortune. How Beyoncé built wealth through music and touring

Catalog and control of her career

Forbes identifies music rights, including her catalog, as a principal source of Beyoncé’s wealth. She founded Parkwood Entertainment in 2010; Forbes says the company manages her career and produces music, documentaries and concerts. By bringing substantial management and production work in-house, Parkwood can capture more of the economics behind projects, though Forbes does not publish a detailed accounting of the company’s ownership, costs or profits.

In a 2013 interview quoted by Forbes, Beyoncé explained her decision to manage herself: “When I decided to manage myself, it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company.” She also described wanting to build her own enterprise and show women they did not have to sign with someone else at that career stage. That business approach is context for Parkwood’s role, not a standalone valuation of the company.

Touring, ticket sales and merchandise

Forbes reported that the 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million. For the 2025 Cowboy Carter Tour, Forbes cited Pollstar-reported ticket sales of more than $400 million and estimated merchandise sales at $50 million. Forbes described the Cowboy Carter Tour as the highest-grossing concert tour of 2025. These are tour-related gross sales figures, not amounts that can be added directly to Beyoncé’s personal net worth: they do not, by themselves, account for production costs, other expenses, taxes, or the division of revenue among the parties involved.

Keep net worth, earnings and tour revenue separate

These figures describe different things and come with different measurement limits. Annual pretax earnings refer to income over a period; a tour gross or merchandise figure records sales associated with an event or product; net worth is an estimate of a person’s overall financial position. They should not be added together or treated as interchangeable.

Other ventures are part of the picture, not the main explanation

Forbes also names Cécred, a hair-care brand, and SirDavis, a whiskey label, among Beyoncé’s ventures. The report says Ivy Park, her clothing line, was discontinued in 2024. Forbes nevertheless attributes most of her personal wealth to music and touring, rather than treating these ventures as the primary source.

Forbes also noted that 458,000 people watched Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance concurrently on YouTube. That figure illustrates the scale of her audience; it is not a financial valuation or evidence of a particular amount of wealth.

What the estimate does—and does not—establish

The Forbes report supports the conclusion that the publication estimated Beyoncé’s net worth at billionaire level and linked most of her wealth to music, catalog rights and touring. It does not establish a publicly disclosed, audited balance sheet or offer enough detail to reproduce the valuation independently. Because the profile is live, its displayed estimate should be cited with the date it was viewed, not treated as a timeless figure.

Forbes’s central point about the business model is that an artist who can fill stadiums and retain control over substantial parts of production and rights can participate in several layers of music income. As Forbes put it, “Across any category of the entertainment industry, there is practically no enterprise more lucrative than a musician who can sell out stadiums.” This describes the potential economics of scale; it is not a claim that every tour’s gross flows to the performer.

In a written interview quoted by Forbes, Beyoncé said, “I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family,” adding, “No amount of money is worth my peace.”
