The SIF India performance dashboard showed a 30.47% since-inception return for qSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund and -12.58% for Diviniti Equity Long-Short Fund when observed on October 7, 2026. Those are the rounded 31% gain and 12% loss in the headline. They are cumulative returns for different strategies and each fund’s own inception period—not a matched-period or risk-adjusted comparison.

What the SIF dashboard shows

The figures below are the dashboard’s “SI Return” values, observed October 7, 2026. They are attributed to the dashboard and have not been independently recalculated.

Fund Strategy Since-inception return Inception date shown in reviewed dashboard
qSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund Hybrid Long-Short +30.47% Not stated (SIF India performance dashboard)
Diviniti Equity Long-Short Fund Equity Long-Short -12.58% Not stated (SIF India performance dashboard)

The dashboard also displays returns for 1-week, 15-day, 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, 1-year and 3-year periods. Some entries are blank where the relevant history is unavailable.

Why these figures do not establish which fund is better

“Since inception” starts from each fund’s own launch. The reviewed dashboard excerpt does not state both inception dates or provide a methodology that normalizes the figures to a common period. One fund’s cumulative result may therefore cover a different duration from the other’s.

The funds also have different strategy categories. A leaderboard snapshot cannot isolate the effect of strategy from the length of the measurement period, and it does not establish which fund delivered stronger returns for a comparable level of risk.

  • Risk and volatility: the cited dashboard figures do not provide risk-adjusted performance or enough risk indicators to compare how the returns were achieved.
  • Costs: the figures alone do not settle whether costs are comparable or what an investor receives after applicable charges.
  • Suitability: past cumulative performance does not establish whether either strategy fits an individual investor’s needs or circumstances.

What to check before comparing SIF strategies

Use current scheme documents and disclosures to make a more meaningful comparison. Look for the same measurement date and matching return periods, then assess each scheme in its own context.

  1. Match the period. Compare returns over the same dates or the same standard period, rather than treating separate inception-to-date figures as equivalent.
  2. Check launch date and available history. Confirm when each scheme began and whether it has enough history for the period you want to assess.
  3. Understand the mandate. Read the strategy category and scheme documents; the two funds in this snapshot are not in the same strategy category.
  4. Review risk and costs. Consult disclosures for risk indicators and fees or other costs, which are not established by the two return figures.
  5. Check current rules and eligibility. SEBI’s March 20, 2026 Master Circular for Mutual Funds includes Chapter 21 on Specialized Investment Funds and their framework. For a transaction, rely on the latest applicable SEBI requirements and scheme documents.

SIF minimum investment threshold

SEBI’s February 27, 2025 framework sets an aggregate minimum investment threshold of INR 10 lakh across a SIF’s investment strategies at PAN level, with an exception for accredited investors. This is a framework-level threshold, not a substitute for checking current scheme documents or later regulatory updates before investing.
