As of 1 September 2026, Groove says it is an Amsterdam-based creative label within Unify Group focused on websites and digital products; the group assigned advertising, SEO, and performance marketing to its Chase Marketing label. For a Dubai business, the choice comes down to scope, local-market capability, accountability, and total cost—not a general claim that one type of agency is better.
Is Groove Digital in Dubai?
No, not according to Groove’s announcement of 31 August 2026. It says Groove continues from 1 September 2026 as a creative label within Unify Group, based in Amsterdam. Groove’s services page also lists an Amsterdam address. Its published information does not establish that it has a Dubai office or a Dubai-based delivery team. Groove’s announcement and services page should be checked directly for current details.
That distinction matters if you need in-person coordination, Arabic-language work, or demonstrable knowledge of Dubai audiences, regulations, and seasonal buying patterns. An agency can serve clients remotely without being locally based, but you should ask who will do the work and what relevant UAE experience they can show rather than infer local expertise from a company name.
What Groove currently does
Groove’s latest announcement describes its focus as websites and digital products, including work built on Webflow and Shopify. It says Groove is a Webflow Premium Partner and Shopify Certified Partner; those are claims made by Groove, not independent evaluations or guarantees of a project’s results. The announcement says the group’s advertising, SEO, and performance marketing work moved to Chase Marketing, while conversion and retention are assigned to Neuroo. It does not establish that Chase Marketing is based in Dubai.

Groove’s older services page describes design, build, and optimization, including SEO and other marketing offerings. Because the later announcement specifically says Groove has let go of its marketing services, use that announcement as the more current description of Groove’s role. Ask which Unify Group label would contract for any service outside websites and digital products, and confirm the scope in writing.
How Groove describes its delivery process
On its About page, Groove describes a discovery, design, build, and optimization process organized into focused two-week sprints, with a deliverable approved before the next sprint. It gives estimated durations of 1–3 weeks for discovery and research, 2–6 weeks for design, and 4–8 weeks for build, and says a month of CRO optimization is included after launch. These are Groove’s published estimates and stated inclusion; they are not independently measured averages or terms guaranteed for every project. Confirm the schedule, acceptance criteria, revisions, and post-launch work in your proposal. Groove’s About page
When Groove could make sense for a Dubai business
- Your main need is a digital product: You are commissioning a website, webshop, or internal software rather than ongoing campaign management.
- The named platforms fit: Webflow or Shopify meets your requirements for integrations, editing, ecommerce, scalability, and handover. Platform familiarity alone does not prove that either platform is right for your business.
- You are comfortable assessing a remote engagement: The agency can explain who will deliver the work, how approvals and communication will run across locations, and how support will work after launch.
- You can separate specialist scopes: If you also need paid advertising, SEO, or performance marketing, you are willing to evaluate and contract for those services separately rather than assume they are included in a Groove website project.
Groove founder and CEO Rens Hageman explained the specialization in the announcement by saying, “An agency that offers eight services is not the best in the country at any of those eight, and I saw us becoming that kind of flat agency. That had to stop.” This is his rationale for the repositioning, not evidence that specialist agencies always outperform broader ones.
Digital marketing is not automatically better than traditional marketing
For a Dubai business, the useful comparison is not digital versus traditional in the abstract; it is which mix can reach the intended audience and support the business objective. IFZA’s May 2024 guide for Dubai entrepreneurs describes digital marketing as potentially measurable and targetable, and in some cases less costly than traditional media. It also recommends fitting digital activity into the overall marketing plan and coordinating it with offline methods such as brochures and local-business partnerships. Those are possible advantages, not a promise that digital will outperform offline channels for every business. IFZA’s guide
Likewise, a website project and a marketing-retainer proposal are not equivalent offers. Compare them against the work you actually need: a launch-ready website may be valuable without buying media, while a campaign-focused business may need ongoing channel operations that a website specialist does not provide.

Request proposals against the same brief. A fair comparison should make the service boundaries, people, measures, and full commitment visible rather than reducing the decision to a headline price or a claimed return.
Rank #4
- Define the scope. List the outcomes and work required: branding, design, web development, media buying, SEO, social, content, campaign operations, maintenance, or optimization. Ask each provider to identify what is included, excluded, and handled by another supplier.
- Verify local-market fit. Ask where the delivery team is located and who will lead the account. Request examples relevant to your UAE sector, audience, language needs, and seasonal calendar. Check what the team did and what outcomes the client authorized it to disclose.
- Agree on measurement. Specify the business outcomes to track, the attribution method, reporting cadence, analytics access, and who is responsible for implementation. A dashboard or ROAS figure without its calculation method and context is not enough to compare providers.
- Test the evidence. Compare case studies with your own sector, budget, objective, and time period. Ask for the context behind any performance claim and, where it matters to your decision, the underlying data or a way to verify it.
- Map delivery and ownership. Establish who owns discovery, content, design approvals, development, analytics setup, maintenance, and post-launch optimization. Confirm access to accounts, source files, website assets, and documentation, plus the handover and exit process.
- Check platform fit. Compare the proposed CMS or ecommerce platform against your integrations, editing workflow, expected scale, and internal capability. Ask how the site will be maintained and what a future migration would involve.
- Compare the full cost and accountability. Put project fees, recurring charges, third-party costs, milestones, deliverables, service levels, change requests, and termination terms side by side. Ask what triggers extra fees and what happens if an approval or milestone slips.
There is no neutral head-to-head study or comparable pricing data establishing that Groove is better or worse than Dubai agencies. One local provider’s published figures illustrate why individual claims need context: Digital Marketing Dubai says it had 14 active client accounts, a 5.7x average blended ROAS, and 78% client retention beyond 12 months in Q1 2026, with the figures drawn from its GA4 and advertising consoles. These are that company’s self-reported figures, not independently audited market benchmarks or a comparison with Groove. Different agencies may calculate and report results on different bases.
