For luxury boutiques, head to Capri town’s Via Camerelle and Via Vittorio Emanuele. For a quieter browse focused on crafts and souvenirs, try Anacapri. Neither town has a dependable island-wide price advantage, so decide what you want to buy and set a spending limit before you start.
Choose a shopping area that fits your plan
Capri town: designer boutiques and window-shopping
Capri town is the island’s concentrated luxury-shopping choice. Via Camerelle is its best-known designer-boutique route; Via Vittorio Emanuele continues toward the Piazzetta. You can browse the flagship corridor without buying, but set your limit before you enter shops so the surroundings do not define your budget. Capri.com’s shopping guide describes the area and its shops.
Anacapri: a calmer browse for crafts and souvenirs
Anacapri has smaller artisan and souvenir shops and a quieter pace. It is a useful choice if local-associated goods matter more than designer labels, but that does not mean every item is cheaper than in Capri town. The available guides do not provide a current, comparable low-budget shopping list or town-by-town price survey. See Capri.it’s shopping guide for destination information.
Match the purchase to your spending limit
Browsing first or spending modestly
If you want to see Capri town’s designer streets without making a luxury purchase, treat the walk as window-shopping and choose one modest goal in advance: perhaps a small souvenir or a craft item. Ask who made it, what it is made from, and whether packing is included. Anacapri is another option for browsing craft shops, not a guarantee of lower prices.

A mid-range purchase: made-to-measure sandals
Handmade leather sandals are a classic Capri-associated purchase. A typical custom order involves measuring your foot, choosing a sole and straps, and waiting while the maker completes the pair. One destination guide says the process can take about an hour, but actual timing depends on the maker and order. Before committing, ask for the exact price, customization options, completion time, and whether you can collect the sandals before departure. Capri.com’s guide describes the process.
Online catalogs give examples, not a reliable island-wide average. When reviewed, Il Sandalo Caprese listed traditional styles at approximately €75–€110 and jeweled styles at approximately €160–€220. Canfora’s storefront showed model-specific prices, including sale listings from about €108 to €234; those discounts can change. Check the exact model and price directly with each shop before budgeting: Il Sandalo Caprese and Canfora.

A luxury purchase: decide the ceiling before browsing
For designer fashion or jewelry, concentrate on Via Camerelle and Via Vittorio Emanuele in Capri town. There is no stable cross-brand price list in the destination guides, so compare the exact item, materials, and purchase terms in person. You can make browsing and buying separate decisions if you want to keep the visit within a firm limit.

- Leather sandals: ENIT describes Capri sandals as handcrafted leather footwear, but says they are available on Capri and in towns along the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts. “Capri sandals” alone does not prove that a particular pair was made on the island. Ask where the pair was made and whether it is made to measure. ENIT’s Campania shopping guide provides the regional context.
- Fragrance: Capri.com names Carthusia and describes fragrances for body and home. Confirm the provenance and current range of a particular product with the maker. Carthusia.
- Limoncello: Capri.com’s business listing describes Limoncello di Capri as made from local island lemons and identifies locations in both Capri and Anacapri. Check airline, customs, and shipping rules for your route before buying a bottle. Limoncello di Capri on Capri.com.
- Other gifts and crafts: Destination guides mention bells, jewelry, bags, textiles, and glass. Ask about the maker, materials, country of origin, care, and protective packing—especially for fragile or high-value items.
A Capri name or motif is not proof of local production. If provenance matters to you, ask who made the item and where; do not rely on branding alone.

Keep the day—and the total cost—under control
- Compare what the price includes: Ask whether customization, packaging, or shipping costs extra, and whether the displayed price is a sale price.
- Allow for the transfer: Capri town and Anacapri are separate shopping centers, not one continuous retail district. Leave time to travel between them and, on a day trip, to reach Marina Grande before your ferry. Current routes and fares are not established here; check transport information on the day.
- Plan custom-item collection: If an item is made to order, confirm its completion and collection time before you buy, and collect it before leaving that area.
- Check shop hours directly: There is no dependable island-wide schedule. Ask the individual retailer about current hours, prices, stock, and collection arrangements, especially on Sundays, holidays, and outside the main season.
