Shelby Super Snake Mustang Values: 1967 Prototype, Modern Sales and 2026 Price

The 1967 prototype has no established current valuation, modern Super Snake sales vary, and Shelby lists the 2026 model at a $175,885 starting MSRP before specified fees.

There is no single value for every Shelby Super Snake Mustang. The one-off 1967 prototype has no current valuation established by the available official material; recent reported sales for modern cars vary; and a new 2026 Super Snake starts at a manufacturer-listed MSRP of $175,885, including the specified base Ford Mustang but excluding several fees. These are three different kinds of evidence—not interchangeable price estimates.

What is a Shelby Super Snake Mustang worth?

For a specific car, value depends on its model year, generation, body style, transmission, mileage, condition, modifications and documentation. Recent data can offer context for modern cars, but the figures available here do not provide a universal price schedule or a mechanical adjustment for those factors. A 2026 MSRP is a new-car price, while a reported sale is evidence of what a particular car reportedly brought; neither automatically establishes the value of another Super Snake.

Keep the categories separate when evaluating a price: manufacturer MSRP, asking price, completed sale, dealer offer and appraisal answer different questions. The recent modern-car figures below are secondary-market reports, not guaranteed values for a car you own or are considering.

How much is the 1967 Shelby Super Snake worth?

Shelby American says it built one Super Snake Mustang in 1967, for Goodyear high-speed tire testing. The company’s official material establishes the car’s singular status and purpose, but does not give its current value. The evidence cited here also does not establish a historical auction result for the prototype, so a defensible dollar estimate cannot be supplied from it.

Do not estimate the prototype’s value by applying modern Super Snake sales or the 2026 MSRP. They concern different vehicles, periods and kinds of evidence.

What do recent modern Super Snake sales show?

The available reports provide a limited snapshot, not a price range covering every Super Snake. DriveIndex reports 18 verified sales across four model years, with data through September 9, 2026. Its page lists a 2024 car sold for $126,000 on March 17, 2026, and a 2025 car at $149,000. These are reported examples from an aggregation, not guaranteed prices for comparable cars.

For fourth-generation 2024–2025 Super Snakes, CLASSIC.COM maintains a separate market benchmark. Autoblog reported in September 2026 that CLASSIC.COM’s average sale for that cohort was $156,857, with a reported low of $126,000 for a 2024 car in March 2026 and a high of $198,000 in January 2025.

DriveIndex auction-results aggregation $149,000 Reported 2025-car sale; the cited page does not give a sale date for this example.
CLASSIC.COM benchmark, as reported by Autoblog $156,857 average Reported September 2026 average for fourth-generation 2024–2025 cars, not all Super Snake generations.
CLASSIC.COM result, as reported by Autoblog $126,000 low Reported March 2026 sale of a 2024 car within the fourth-generation cohort.
CLASSIC.COM result, as reported by Autoblog $198,000 high Reported January 2025 sale within the fourth-generation cohort.

The figures differ because they describe individual reported transactions and a benchmark for a defined cohort, rather than a single standardized appraisal. They should not be combined into a value range for every model year, nor treated as a forecast of future prices.

How much does a new 2026 Shelby Super Snake cost?

Shelby American’s January 9, 2026 announcement lists a starting MSRP of $175,885, including the base Ford Mustang specified by Shelby. Tax, title, transportation and other outside fees are excluded. Shelby also says Ford base pricing, options and availability can change, so confirm the current configuration and total purchase price with the seller.

The 2026 car is based on Ford’s S650 Mustang platform. Shelby lists a 5.0-liter model with a choice of 480 or 830-plus horsepower; the 830-plus figure is specified as flywheel horsepower using 93-octane fuel in the United States. Shelby notes that the supercharger is available for post-title sales only, so do not assume every 2026 car has the supercharged output.

Shelby says the Ford powertrain warranty remains intact and describes a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. Verify the coverage and current terms for the individual car before relying on them.

How to estimate a particular Super Snake

  1. Identify the exact car. Record its model year and determine whether it is a Shelby-built post-title package, a documented special edition or the unique 1967 prototype. Shelby says its vehicles are documented in the official Shelby Registry; check the registry and vehicle records to support identification and provenance.
  2. Match the comparison set. Start with completed sales from the same generation and, where possible, similar body style, transmission, mileage, condition and modification history. Shelby’s 2025 brochure shows both manual and automatic transmissions and coupe and convertible configurations, so “Super Snake” alone may not identify a close comparable.
  3. Separate price types. Label each number as MSRP, asking price, completed transaction, dealer offer or appraisal. A manufacturer’s new-car price does not establish a used vehicle’s resale value.
  4. Assess the car’s evidence. Confirm build and registry documentation, condition, mileage and modifications. The available sources do not supply a universal dollar adjustment for any of these factors.
  5. Use benchmarks as references, not guarantees. Shelby American says it is integrating its vehicles into Black Book valuations to help dealers price, appraise and transact them and to help lenders and buyers understand market value. CLASSIC.COM also maintains a benchmark for fourth-generation cars. Neither reference guarantees the price a particular seller will receive.

When comparing or negotiating, state the source and date for each figure and keep the comparison cohort visible. A small set of transactions can describe reported outcomes; by itself, it does not establish a long-term appreciation trend.
