What happened to the Lakeside Joondalup pop-up?
On 4 June 2024, PerthNow reported that SHEIN planned to open a temporary pop-up at Lakeside Joondalup on 21 June, with shoppers able to visit for three days. The announcement described the brand’s first visit to Perth and an in-person shopping experience. PerthNow’s original announcement reported the plan, not a completed opening.
A later PerthNow report said Lakeside had scrapped the activation and quoted a centre spokesperson confirming it would no longer proceed there. The follow-up report identified Claremont Showgrounds as the new Perth location. It did not establish whether the event subsequently took place at that venue.
Why was it cancelled at Lakeside?
The reason was not known, according to the follow-up report. The centre spokesperson said the activation would no longer proceed at Lakeside, but the report gave no explanation for the change. There is no basis in the available reporting to attribute it to a particular cause.

Is Lakeside Joondalup still open?
The cancellation concerned this SHEIN activation, not the shopping centre. Lakeside’s official centre information lists its address as 420 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup, WA 6027, and says it has more than 300 specialty retailers. Its opening-hours page notes that individual store hours may differ and lists (08) 9300 3888 for centre enquiries. These are current centre details, not information about the cancelled pop-up.
