The EFL confirmed the sale and said it would not impose an additional 15-point deduction as the club exited administration. The headline’s “see sense” wording appears to refer to an earlier stage, but the specific issue behind it is not established by the available reporting.
What happened with the Sheffield Wednesday takeover?
Arise Capital Partners bought Sheffield Wednesday, with David Storch leading the consortium, and Chansiri’s ownership officially ended. BBC Sport reported the completion on 2 May 2026 and said the EFL confirmed the sale. The EFL also said Wednesday would avoid an additional 15-point deduction associated with leaving administration. That 15-point decision was separate from deductions already recorded against the club. The takeover did not erase those earlier penalties.
What was the “see sense” issue?
The exact earlier dispute behind the headline’s phrase “see sense” is not established in the reporting available here. It should be treated as the headline’s characterization, not as a verified quotation from Storch, Chansiri, Sheffield Wednesday or the EFL. There is not enough support to identify a particular debt, valuation or concession as the issue in question.

Which points deductions were involved?
Three figures are relevant, but they refer to different decisions. Sport Resolutions’ December 2025 decision records a 12-point deduction for entering administration and a separate six-point deduction for regulatory breaches. The EFL’s later statement, reported by BBC Sport in May 2026, concerned an additional 15-point deduction that it would not impose following the takeover and exit from administration. What did Storch say he wanted to change?
Before the sale was complete, Storch described a plan focused on club governance, supporter engagement, financial stability, sustainability and football strategy. In his BBC interview, he said: “You’ll see that we have a blueprint for proper governance, fan engagement, financial stability, sustainability and football strategy.” BBC Sport’s interview with Storch, 24 December 2025
That was his stated vision as a prospective owner, not evidence that each goal has since been delivered. In its 15 June 2026 update, Sheffield Wednesday described the change in emphasis this way: “Now, the focus shifts from saving the club to shaping what comes next.” That is the club’s own account of the transition, rather than an independent assessment of its progress.
