The Reserve Bank of Australia’s latest surfaced reference observation is dated 14 September 2026: 1 Singapore dollar was approximately 1.1024 Australian dollars, calculated by inverting the RBA’s published rate of 0.9071 Singapore dollars per Australian dollar. This is a dated reference rate, not a live quote or a guarantee of what a transfer provider will pay.

What is the SGD to AUD exchange rate?

An exchange rate is the price of one currency expressed in another, as the Reserve Bank of Australia explains. The quote direction matters: SGD to AUD tells you how many Australian dollars correspond to one Singapore dollar, while AUD to SGD gives the number of Singapore dollars for one Australian dollar.

The RBA’s table lists foreign currencies per Australian dollar. Its reported SGD figure therefore needs to be inverted to express the rate as SGD to AUD.

Latest surfaced reference rate and recent observations

On 14 September 2026, the RBA reported 1 AUD = 0.9071 SGD. The reciprocal is approximately 1 SGD = 1.1024 AUD. The AUD-per-SGD figure is an arithmetic calculation from the RBA observation, not a separately published provider quote.

These are RBA observations, not rates for 7 October 2026. RBA rates are published daily except on public and bank holidays observed in New South Wales, and the bank says the data should not be relied upon for regulatory or commercial purposes. For a current transaction, check the provider’s live quote; for reporting or tax, use the source and method appropriate to that purpose.

How to convert SGD to AUD

  1. Find a rate quoted as AUD per SGD. For the 14 September 2026 calculation above, use approximately 1.1024 AUD for each SGD.
  2. Multiply the SGD amount by the rate. For example, at that dated reference rate, S$1,000 × 1.1024 gives about A$1,102.40 before any provider margin or fees.
  3. Check the quote date and direction. If the rate is shown as SGD per AUD, divide 1 by that figure to obtain AUD per SGD.
  4. For a transfer, use the provider’s final payout quote. The amount received can differ from a reference-rate calculation after the provider’s exchange-rate margin, fees, funding method, or delivery method.

How to compare SGD-to-AUD money transfers

Compare the amount of AUD the recipient will actually receive for the same SGD send amount, using the same funding method, destination account, and delivery speed. A low advertised fee alone does not show which option offers better value: a less favorable exchange rate can reduce the payout.

Australia’s Moneysmart guidance, last updated 17 September 2026, advises: “Look for a good currency exchange rate and check the fees when sending money overseas.” It notes that providers choose their exchange rate and charge fees, with costs depending on the amount, destination, and method. Moneysmart also says Australian money-transfer services must be registered with AUSTRAC; check the provider and route before sending.

Where to check official rates and tax-conversion guidance

  • Reserve Bank of Australia exchange rates provide the daily AUD-based table used for the dated observations above. Read the units carefully and invert the SGD-per-AUD figure when you need AUD per SGD.
  • Monetary Authority of Singapore statistics offers daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly exchange-rate data, as well as an API catalog.
  • IRAS foreign-exchange conversion guidance explains that relevant Singapore tax conversions should use an approved source and consistent records; MAS is among the acceptable local sources listed. The appropriate conversion rule depends on the transaction and reporting context, so a general reference rate is not automatically correct for every commercial or tax purpose.
