Gomez’s engagement ring has a marquise-cut center diamond set on a yellow-gold pavé band. Vogue described the ring in December 2024, and later coverage identified it as a bespoke design by Katherine and Stephanie Theofilos of Abril Barret. ELLE describes the setting as cathedral-style, with six prongs. Its jewelry experts say the raised shoulders and prongs help support the center stone.
Wedding photos show a diamond band worn alongside the engagement ring. Jewelers interviewed by ELLE interpret the apparent design as an open or gap band, shaped to sit around the marquise setting. The exact construction and side profile are not fully confirmed in public reporting.
Why Gomez chose a marquise diamond
Gomez said the shape was a longtime dream inspired by a lyric from her song “Good for You”: “Ever since the ‘Good for You’ days—that was, gosh, so many years ago—that’s the diamond I’ve always dreamed of.” In a joint interview, Benny Blanco said Gomez showed him designs and that he would “always throw little hints” as her ideas shaped the ring.
