On October 8, 2026, Securitize launched Securitize Stocks, tokenized U.S. equities that trade on Solana and settle in USDC. Securitize says each token is backed one-for-one by an underlying share and carries a security entitlement, but holders are not registered shareholders of the issuer unless they convert. Access is limited to eligible investors in permitted jurisdictions, and two planned venues had not launched at announcement. On the same day, same-day financial coverage reported that Securitize Corp. shares (NYSE: SECZ) rose more than 10% in intraday trading. That price move is a market reaction, and the sources do not establish that the launch caused it. This is news coverage, not individualized investment advice.
What are tokenized stocks?
A tokenized stock is a blockchain token designed to give its holder exposure to a company’s share. The label alone tells you very little. Some products hold the underlying share and pass economics through, others track a price, and others give a contractual claim against an intermediary. What you actually get depends on three things: the legal claim the token carries, who holds the underlying share and whether it can be lent, and who can buy, where it trades, and how it settles.
Securitize’s chairman and CEO, Carlos Domingo, framed the goal this way: “Tokenized stocks should give investors more than a price on a wrapper that tracks a stock and is only offered offshore.” The launch is worth reading closely because Securitize states its structure in specific terms, which makes each claim checkable.

Which stocks are in the launch lineup?
Coverage of the lineup is not uniform. The Block reported that Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta and Amazon were among the names, and that SpaceX, Palantir, Circle and Strategy were expected to follow. Reports did not consistently separate names trading now from names expected later. Treat any ticker list, including this one, as a snapshot and check the live product before relying on it.
Are Securitize Stocks backed by real shares?
Securitize says yes, under a specific legal structure. It describes each token as a convertible entitlement token (CET) backed one-for-one by an underlying share, and says each token represents a security entitlement under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code. Article 8 is the U.S. commercial-law framework covering investment securities and the interests investors hold through intermediaries. A security entitlement is a right against the intermediary holding the share. It is not registration in your name on the issuer’s books.
What the token does not give you
- Registered shareholder status. Holders are not registered shareholders of the underlying issuer unless they convert.
- Issuer endorsement. According to the release, the underlying issuers have not sponsored or endorsed Securitize Stocks.
- Share lending. Securitize says the shares backing the tokens will not be lent out. This is the company’s stated design, not an outcome independently verified.
Conversion into direct ownership
Where available, a holder may convert to direct ownership recorded on the issuer’s books through transfer-agent infrastructure. Securitize presents conversion into issuer-sponsored shares as a future bridge if an issuer adopts that model. Both conditions matter: conversion is available only where offered, and it depends on an issuer adopting the model. Until a specific stock offers it, a token holder has no route to registered ownership of that stock.
Do token holders get dividends or voting rights?
Securitize says holders receive applicable economic benefits and rights, including dividends and voting rights where the underlying share class carries them. The qualifier is the important part. Rights follow the share class, not the token label, so a share class without voting rights does not produce votes through the token. This article covers the rights Securitize describes. How distributions reach a token holder and how votes are cast are procedural questions for the product terms, and should be checked before you assume either.

Can I buy Securitize Stocks in my country?
Possibly, but not everywhere. Securitize says the product is available to eligible investors in the U.S., the EU, and other permitted jurisdictions. Eligibility is subject to:
- the securities laws of your jurisdiction;
- sanctions restrictions;
- Securitize’s onboarding process;
- KYC (know-your-customer) and AML (anti-money-laundering) checks.
Residence in a listed region is therefore a starting point, not a guarantee of access.

The first is an SEC order that SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce described in a September 17, 2026 statement. The order creates time-limited exemptions for a category called tokenized securities venues (TSVs) and for certain liquidity providers. Issuers that do not want their stock trading on TSVs can opt out. Peirce stressed that the order is limited and temporary, and wrote: “The innovation exemption has arrived.”

Why did SECZ stock jump on launch day?
Same-day financial coverage reported that Securitize Corp. shares rose by a double-digit percentage in intraday trading after the product announcement. One same-day headline put the move at 12%, and other same-day reports captured different intraday levels. These are intraday snapshots, not closing returns, and each figure depends on when its report was written.
The price move and the announcement fell on the same day. That timing is all the reporting establishes. Nothing in the launch materials or the same-day coverage isolates the launch’s effect on the share price, so a same-day move should not be read as proof that the product drove it.

Securitize Corp. began trading on the NYSE under SECZ on July 2, 2026, after completing its business combination with Cantor Equity Partners II. How to check a tokenized stock before buying
The same questions apply to any tokenized equity offering, whatever it is called.
- Identify the legal claim. Confirm whether the token is a security entitlement, a direct share, or another instrument, and read what the product terms say happens if the intermediary fails.
- Check issuer sponsorship. A product the issuer has not endorsed depends on the intermediary’s arrangements rather than any commitment from the company.
- Confirm conversion terms. Check whether conversion is offered for that specific stock, through which transfer agent, and under what conditions.
- Confirm eligibility before opening an account. Check residence against the permitted jurisdictions and the onboarding requirements.
- Confirm the venue is live. Trade only on venues that are operating now, with the hours currently offered, not on planned venues.
- Check the settlement asset. At launch, trades settle in USDC, so your cash position carries exposure to that asset.
- Look at quoted prices and size at the time you trade. The launch materials and same-day coverage used for this article contain no liquidity or execution-quality figures for launch trading.
The Bottom Line
The label “tokenized stock” describes a category, not a set of rights. Securitize’s launch is specific enough to check term by term, and that is the useful takeaway: read the legal claim, eligibility, venue and regulatory route for the exact product you are considering rather than judging it by its name or by the day’s share-price move.
