Amazon’s last Fresh Pickup location in Seattle closed in December 2023. The SoDo site at 76 S. Lander St. was still reported as an Amazon Hub for package pickup and drop-off in January 2024, but Amazon later confirmed that its returns facility there closed in early July 2024. The available reports do not establish whether package pickup continued at that address after the returns closure—or whether it operates there today.
What happened to Amazon Fresh Pickup in Seattle?
The Amazon Fresh Pickup at 76 S. Lander St., in SoDo at the base of the Starbucks headquarters building, closed in December 2023, according to GeekWire’s January 4, 2024 report. Amazon’s other Seattle Fresh Pickup location, on 15th Avenue N.W. in Ballard, had closed in January 2023. GeekWire reported that these were the only two Amazon Fresh Pickup locations in the United States.
Amazon spokesperson Jessica Martin told GeekWire: “Like any retailer, we periodically assess our portfolio and make optimization decisions around how we operate.”
Did package pickup and returns continue at 76 S. Lander St.?
Package pickup and drop-off
In its January 2024 report, GeekWire said the former Fresh Pickup space continued to operate as an Amazon Hub for package pickup and drop-off. That is a report of the location’s status at that time, not confirmation of its current status.

Returns
Amazon confirmed to GeekWire that the SoDo returns facility closed in early July 2024. In an August 29, 2024 follow-up, GeekWire reported that signs directed customers to the nearest Amazon returns location at a Whole Foods Market in West Seattle. The report does not establish whether package pickup or drop-off remained at 76 S. Lander St. after the returns facility closed.
If you need to pick up a package or make a return, check Amazon’s current location options before traveling. Do not assume the former SoDo site still offers either service.

Can Seattle customers still get Amazon grocery pickup?
Amazon’s Fresh and Whole Foods help page says grocery pickup is available in select cities, with eligibility depending on location. Amazon directs customers to check availability by postal code. Its announcement says grocery delivery and free pickup have expanded to customers in U.S. areas where Amazon Fresh is available to Prime members; that does not establish that pickup is available at a particular Seattle address. Check the options shown for your postal code and order before making plans. Availability and any fees depend on the selected service and order.

In January 2026, Amazon announced that it would close its physical Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go stores and focus more on online grocery delivery and Whole Foods Market. The company said it had not yet created a sufficiently distinctive customer experience with the economics needed for large-scale expansion. Amazon also said online Fresh shopping would continue in areas where the service is available.

Amazon’s company page, updated May 12, 2026, reports online grocery service in more than 5,000 U.S. cities and towns and says the company plans to open more than 100 Whole Foods Market stores over the next few years. These are company-wide figures and plans, not statements about service at a specific Seattle address. They do not change the unresolved status of package pickup at 76 S. Lander St.
