Seattle-based, Israeli-founded cybersecurity company MIND emerged from stealth on October 30, 2024, with an $11 million seed round led by YL Ventures. The company sells software intended to discover sensitive information, assess data and user risk, and block or remediate improper sharing across enterprise systems.

That seed round is no longer MIND’s full funding story. On June 4, 2025, MIND announced a $30 million Series A led by Paladin Capital Group and Crosspoint Capital Partners, with participation from Okta Ventures and YL Ventures. MIND said the financing took its disclosed total above $40 million. It announced general availability of its autonomous data-loss-prevention platform on August 6, 2025.

What MIND announced in 2024

MIND’s launch announcement described an $11 million seed financing led by YL Ventures. Cybersecurity executives associated with Adobe, ADT, CrowdStrike and FireEye were also identified as investors or supporters. The announcement did not disclose individual check sizes, the financing’s legal structure or a complete investor roster.

GeekWire reported the news on November 13, 2024, while MIND’s announcement was dated October 30, 2024. The company had been founded in 2023.

The funding update readers should know

MIND subsequently raised a $30 million Series A on June 4, 2025. Paladin Capital Group and Crosspoint Capital Partners led that round; Okta Ventures and existing investor YL Ventures participated. MIND said the round brought total disclosed funding to more than $40 million. The available company announcements through August 18, 2026 do not establish a later financing, so the $11 million should be treated as launch-era funding rather than the company’s current disclosed total.

On August 6, 2025, MIND announced general availability of its autonomous DLP platform. MIND says the financing supports continued product and commercial growth, but it has not published a detailed spending breakdown, hiring plan or investment allocation.

What MIND’s product is designed to do

In plain language, MIND is enterprise software intended to find sensitive data, determine which activity is risky and intervene before information leaves an organization improperly. The company positions the platform as combining data-security posture, discovery, classification, detection, response and loss prevention.

Discovery and classification

MIND says its platform continuously discovers sensitive information and uses a multilayer AI classification engine for largely unstructured content rather than relying only on regular expressions or user-applied tags. The stated coverage includes SaaS applications, endpoints, email, cloud systems, on-premises file shares and generative-AI environments. MIND lists Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS, along with Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Azure and on-premises environments, but the precise integration matrix and feature limits require confirmation from the vendor.

Contextual detection

The company says it monitors data at rest and in motion, adds context to security events and prioritizes higher-risk data, users and behavior. This is intended to reduce the burden of investigating every alert generated by a rule-heavy DLP deployment.

Prevention and remediation

MIND says customers can block risky actions, prompt or coach users, and remediate incidents. In practice, the value of that automation depends on policy tuning, exception handling and the ability to distinguish malicious exfiltration from legitimate collaboration.

Why modern data-loss prevention is difficult

Enterprise data now moves through many channels at once:

  • Cloud and SaaS applications with different permissions and sharing models.
  • Email, browsers, messaging tools and removable media.
  • Remote endpoints and on-premises file shares.
  • Generative-AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini.
  • Automated services, APIs, agents and other non-human identities.

Traditional DLP often requires security teams to write and maintain large policy sets, connect multiple products, review high alert volumes and investigate incidents manually. Unstructured documents are particularly difficult to classify consistently. A system that blocks too broadly can stop ordinary work; one that blocks too narrowly can miss a leak.

MIND’s investor and company messaging argues that real-time context and automation are better suited to this environment. That is a product and investment thesis, not independent proof that the approach is more accurate than established tools.

Who founded MIND?

MIND was founded by Israeli cybersecurity veterans Eran Barak, Itai Schwartz and Hod Bin Noon. The company describes itself as based in Seattle and its company page lists offices in Seattle and Tel Aviv.

Founder Role and background
Eran Barak Co-founder and CEO; previously founded Hexadite, acquired by Microsoft in 2017.
Itai Schwartz Co-founder and CTO; previously the first employee at Torq and worked at Axonius.
Hod Bin Noon Co-founder and VP of R&D; previously the first employee at Dazz.

Coverage of the launch also reported that the founders previously served in Israel’s Unit 8200. Their prior company-building and security experience helps explain the team’s credibility with cybersecurity investors, but it does not by itself validate product performance.

Where MIND is located

MIND’s listed Seattle address is 1700 Westlake Ave N, Suite #200, Seattle, WA 98109. The same company page lists a Tel Aviv office. Calling MIND simply a Seattle startup misses that Israeli founding and dual-office footprint.

Customers and traction

GeekWire reported early customers including Guild, Akamai and Lionbridge. MIND’s website also presents customer references from Guild, ThoughtSpot, Noname Security and Gravity Payments. These are reported customers or references, not a complete customer list and not independent evidence of prevention rates or return on investment.

In its 2025 Series A announcement, MIND claimed 500% customer growth in the seven months after emerging from stealth and said it was serving Fortune 1000 companies. Those figures are company claims; the announcement does not establish the underlying customer count, methodology or independent verification.

How MIND fits against other security categories

MIND is not necessarily a replacement for every existing security product. Its differentiation claim is that one AI-led platform combines capabilities that are often split among several categories:

Category Typical role How MIND positions itself
Legacy enterprise DLP Policy-based controls for data movement and sharing. Less manual policy work through contextual, automated classification and response.
Cloud access security broker (CASB) Visibility and control over cloud applications and access. Broader data discovery, classification and prevention across cloud and non-cloud channels.
Insider-risk management Investigation of risky user behavior and potential misuse. Combines insider-risk signals with data posture and active loss prevention.
Data-security posture management Finding sensitive data and exposure across stores and services. Adds event detection, user context and enforcement.
AI and SaaS data-protection tools Controls around specific cloud, developer or AI workflows. Claims coverage across endpoints, email, file shares, SaaS and generative-AI tools.

Established alternatives include Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention, Netskope, Forcepoint Data Security, Proofpoint Information Protection, Broadcom/Symantec Data Loss Prevention and Nightfall AI. The right comparison depends on existing licenses, integrations, endpoint requirements, data residency and the organization’s tolerance for adding another agent or platform.

Questions an enterprise buyer should ask

Coverage and integrations

  • Which SaaS applications, operating systems, browsers, messaging tools and AI services are supported today?
  • Does coverage include personal as well as corporate AI accounts, APIs, plug-ins and custom agents?
  • Does the product protect data at rest, in motion and in use, including removable media and browser uploads?

Classification and accuracy

  • How are false positives and false negatives measured, and against what baseline?
  • Can customers create custom taxonomies for proprietary documents, source code, images and multilingual content?
  • Does customer content train shared models, and how can automated decisions be explained or audited?

Enforcement and employee impact

  • Can a policy monitor, warn, coach, quarantine or block?
  • Can users request exceptions, and are approvals and overrides logged?
  • How are employees notified, and have privacy, legal, HR and works-council requirements been reviewed?

Deployment, governance and commercial terms

  • What agents, permissions and data transfers are required?
  • Which hosting regions, retention controls, encryption options and audit-log integrations are available?
  • What certifications and contractual assurances are offered? Public sources reviewed do not establish MIND’s compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR or any other specific regime.
  • What are the minimum seats, contract term, implementation costs and recurring fees?

MIND directs prospects to request a demo through its website. No public list price, standard plan names, minimum seat count or contract figures were identified in the available materials. A quote-based enterprise model is a reasonable inference from that sales process, not a published pricing statement.

Important limits on the “autonomous” and “AI” claims

MIND describes its platform as autonomous and calls it the first platform to combine DLP and insider-risk management on autopilot. Those are marketing claims, not uncontested industry facts. Similar capabilities can appear across established DLP, insider-risk, cloud-security and data-security-posture products.

MIND’s August 2025 materials cited customer-reported outcomes including an 80% reduction in DLP-management time, a 95% reduction in false positives and results within hours of deployment. The sources do not provide sample sizes, baselines, selection criteria or independent validation, so these figures should not be generalized to every deployment.

AI classification also introduces its own governance questions: model drift, explainability, false negatives and the treatment of sensitive content. Blocking can disrupt an approved customer transfer, a developer’s legitimate repository upload or an employee’s authorized use of an AI tool. Effective deployment therefore requires tested workflows and exceptions, not just a switch labeled “autonomous.”

Bottom line for the funding story

MIND’s $11 million seed round was the company’s October 2024 launch financing, led by YL Ventures. The more important current context is the $30 million Series A announced in June 2025, which MIND said lifted disclosed funding above $40 million, followed by general availability of its platform in August 2025. MIND is betting that automated discovery, classification, contextual risk analysis and enforcement can make data-loss prevention workable across today’s cloud, endpoint and AI-heavy environments. Buyers should treat the performance statistics and “first” claims as vendor assertions and validate coverage, governance, deployment effort and commercial terms in a technical evaluation.
