The talks and the company’s reported 2025 financial figures have not been confirmed in a primary company announcement or independently verified accounts, and no deal terms or completed investment have been reported.
Which company is seeking investors?
The company named in a report published on 1 October 2026 is Scapêche, a French fishing company associated with the Agromousquetaires group. The report describes Lochinver, in the Scottish Highlands, as its primary base. A French-language post by trade journalist Mélanie Chartier also says Agromousquetaires is seeking partners for its fishing businesses, but does not establish whether the current discussions concern Scapêche alone or a wider fishing division.
Neither source provides a public investment offer or names a potential investor. The reporting establishes discussions, not a completed transaction or a route for individual investors to participate. Wisevoter’s 1 October 2026 report says it includes information reported by The Herald; the available material does not include a primary company announcement. Chartier’s post likewise gives no investor names or terms.
What is known about Scapêche’s finances?
Wisevoter’s report gives three figures for 2025: turnover of €16.9 million, a loss of €4.9 million, and a €15 million recapitalization attributed to Agromousquetaires. These are figures reported by that secondary source, not audited results independently established here. The report does not provide enough underlying financial detail to explain the loss or assess the recapitalization’s terms.
#1 Best Overall
- Reported 2025 turnover: €16.9 million, according to Wisevoter.
- Reported 2025 loss: €4.9 million, according to Wisevoter.
- Reported parent-company recapitalization: €15 million, attributed to Agromousquetaires by Wisevoter.
No reliable confirmation establishes what caused the reported loss. Fuel costs, Brexit, or fishing restrictions should not be treated as proven explanations for Scapêche’s specific financial position.
What is—and is not—established about the investor discussions?
The available reporting points to talks about potential investors or partners, but does not establish that negotiations have advanced to a binding proposal. It also does not identify the prospective partner, the amount of capital involved, or whether an investor would acquire shares, provide financing, or take another role.

There is no verified public offer through which an individual reader can invest. Any future assessment of a proposal would depend on details not yet reported, including the investor’s role, stake and control rights, capital commitments, and implications for Scottish operations and crew.

A 2016 trade interview said Agromousquetaires planned to invest €50 million in its Sustainable Fishing 2025 plan, including replacement or modernization of parts of Scapêche’s then 23-vessel fleet. That was a plan stated at the time; it does not confirm how much was ultimately spent, what work was completed, or what strategy the company follows now. Réussir’s 2016 interview also quoted Agromousquetaires’ then-president Didier Duhaupand on consumer expectations, but that historical comment does not address today’s investor discussions.

A 2021 European Commission-funded study of EU fishing-fleet ownership discusses historical consolidation, foreign investment, low margins, and access to fishing opportunities in past sector transactions. It offers industry context, not evidence about the cause of Scapêche’s reported current difficulties.
Wisevoter also describes Scapêche as operating five vessels registered in Lorient and employing approximately 200 seafarers. Those are figures from the same secondary report; current vessel operations and employment were not independently verified.
