The launch followed an earlier announcement: an SBP circular dated November 5, 2025, had outlined the web portal and its planned functions.
What InvestPak lets customers do
InvestPak supports several parts of the government-securities investment process:
- Submit a request to open an Investor Portfolio of Securities (IPS) account.
- Place bids in primary auctions.
- Submit buy and sell orders for securities in the secondary market.
- Use portfolio-management tools and related services described in the platform’s terms.
SBP’s launch announcement describes InvestPak as a digital platform available through a web portal or mobile application. Its earlier DMMD Circular No. 08 of 2025, dated November 5, 2025, set out the web portal’s planned digital IPS-account requests, auction bids, and secondary-market transactions.
Who is eligible, and how do bank and IPS accounts work?
SBP says individuals and corporates with a bank account are eligible to invest in Pakistan government securities through InvestPak. The money for an investment comes from funds available in the customer’s bank account; an IPS-account request is part of the portal process. An IPS account is the investment account for holding securities, while the bank account is the source of funds.

The official eligibility information says secondary-market transactions are made through the customer’s respective bank. Bank-specific processing and the exact steps may differ, so check the live portal and your bank’s instructions.
How to invest online through InvestPak
- Register on InvestPak. Use the official portal or mobile application and follow its current registration instructions.
- Initiate an IPS-account request. The portal allows eligible customers to request an account digitally; follow any further process required by your bank.
- Choose an available transaction. Depending on current portal support, you may place an auction bid or submit a secondary-market buy or sell order.
- Check the details before confirming. Review the current security, price or yield information, transaction terms, and bank instructions in the portal.
The portal publishes daily yields for reference, but a displayed yield does not guarantee the return an investor will realize. Coupon-bearing securities cannot be traded during a shut period, and not every security is continuously tradable. Consult the portal’s FAQ for current answers, including information about trading before maturity.

Which government securities are available?
SBP’s Financial Markets page identifies Market Treasury Bills (MTBs) and Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs) for InvestPak. The page also links investor guides for MTBs, PIBs, and Government of Pakistan Ijara Sukuk (GIS). A guide link alone does not confirm that a particular instrument or transaction is currently available through the portal; verify availability in the live service and with your bank.
Investors comparing options should check the security’s maturity or tenor, whether it is conventional or Shariah-compliant where applicable, and current price and yield information. These details, along with market conditions and transaction availability, can change. This information is not a recommendation to buy one security over another.

What changed on July 6, 2026?
The dates refer to two different milestones. SBP’s November 5, 2025 circular announced the web portal and described its intended services. SBP’s July 6, 2026 announcement marked the formal launch of InvestPak as a digital platform accessible through a web portal or mobile application. The launch event took place at SBP Karachi, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb as chief guest and Governor Jameel Ahmad hosting.

InvestPak’s privacy notice says registration may collect personal and financial information such as a name, mother’s name, date of birth, CNIC, residency status, phone numbers, email address, IBANs, and IPS-account details. Review the current privacy notice and terms and conditions before submitting information. SBP describes the platform as secure, but that description is not an independent security assessment.
