What “SBI Clerk” meant in the 2025 notice
The recruitment was for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in SBI’s clerical cadre, under advertisement CRPD/CR/2025-26/06, issued by the bank’s Central Recruitment & Promotion Department. SBI’s notice gave the application and fee-payment period as “06.08.2025 TO 26.08.2025.” The application window has ended.

How many vacancies did SBI list?
The official vacancy table reported 5,180 regular vacancies. Backlog and horizontal-reservation figures were shown separately; SBI stated that PwBD/XS/DXS reservations are horizontal and included in parent-category vacancies. The headline figure of 6,589 cannot be treated as a simple total of posts based on the table information established here, so it should not be repeated as SBI’s confirmed vacancy total without reconciling those categories against the full official notice.

Who was eligible to apply in 2025?
These conditions belong to the 2025 cycle only. A future notice may set different dates or requirements.
- Citizenship: Applicants had to be Indian citizens.
- Age: The general age range was 20–28 as of 1 April 2025. Category-based age relaxations applied under the notification.
- Education: Candidates needed a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university by 31 December 2025. Final-year or final-semester students could apply provisionally if they passed by that date.
- State and language: Each candidate could apply for one State/UT and needed proficiency in its specified local language.
How did the 2025 selection process work?
SBI’s notice tentatively scheduled the preliminary examination for September 2025 and the main examination for November 2025. It also described a local-language test after the main examination and before joining. Candidates who had qualifying school certificates showing that they studied the opted language were exempt from that test. The notice’s tentative dates do not confirm later exam events, results or waitlist status.

The notification set a non-refundable fee of ₹750 for General, OBC and EWS candidates. The fee was nil for SC, ST, PwBD, XS and DXS candidates. These were the fees for this closed recruitment cycle, not a guide to fees for a future SBI application.
