Applications are closed. State Bank of India’s 2023 specialist-cadre recruitment advertised 18 Armourer posts and 89 Control Room Operator (CRO) posts. SBI extended the deadline to 12 October 2023, and its recruitment archive now marks the process “Final Result Announced,” with final select lists dated 13 January 2025. Check the official SBI recruitment archive for results and notices.
What SBI’s 107-post figure means
SBI’s Central Recruitment & Promotion Department issued Advertisement No. CRPD/ARMOURERS/2023-24/13 on 6 September 2023. The initial advertisement listed 18 Armourer posts and 89 CRO posts, or 107 in total when those two advertised counts are added. The total refers to the initial announcement; SBI later revised CRO vacancy details, so the initial state-wise breakdown should not be treated as the final allocation.
SBI’s 12 September 2023 corrigendum revised the CRO vacancy table, including Haryana and Punjab entries. A further corrigendum dated 5 October said CRO vacancies were revised again. See the applicable amended notice on the SBI careers archive for any location-level vacancy information.
When applications closed
Online registration originally ran from 6 September through 5 October 2023. SBI’s corrigendum dated 5 October extended the deadline to 12 October 2023. Registration is no longer available.

Who was eligible for each role
These were specialist-cadre posts with distinct service-group and qualification requirements, not general SBI clerical or officer vacancies. Candidates could not treat the two roles as interchangeable.
Armourer
The Armourer vacancy was reserved for ex-servicemen and ex-CAPF/Assam Rifles personnel. Applicants had to be 20 to 45 years old as of 1 August 2023, hold a Class 10+2 pass or equivalent (or an armed forces special certificate equivalent to 10+2), and meet a trade-specific qualification:
- Army: service as Armourer Grade I and a first-class pass in the specified EME armament course.
- Navy: Gunnery trade and a first-class pass in the specified small-arms LDG Q qualification.
- Air Force: Weapon Fitter trade and a first-class pass in the specified small-arms course.
- CAPF/Assam Rifles: Armourer trade and a first-class pass in the applicable Basic Armourer Course.
Medical fitness was also required. Consult the original notice for the precise course requirements applicable to a service background.

The corrigendum provided the stated three- or five-year age relaxation for eligible OBC, SC, and ST applicants. Medical fitness, subject to SBI’s medical examination, was required.
How selection was structured
The advertised selection method was an online test followed by an interview. SBI also reserved the option to use shortlisting and interview instead if applications were few.

Online test
The test was 50 questions for 100 marks, with a one-hour duration. The notice specified this distribution:
| Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General Awareness | 10 | 20 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 10 | 20 |
| Reasoning Ability | 10 | 20 |
| Professional Knowledge | 20 | 40 |
| Total | 50 | 100 |
The notice said there would be no sectional cutoff: aggregate marks would determine merit, with SBI deciding the minimum qualifying aggregate. It planned English and Hindi questions, along with specified regional languages according to the state.

Interview and final merit

Historical application instructions
The application was submitted online through SBI’s careers websites, with registration and supporting documents. The advertisement stated: “Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State only. Candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.” It also listed “GUIDELINES FOR PAYMENT OF FEES: NIL.” These were instructions for the 2023 recruitment; they do not provide a current application route.
Results and how to verify them
SBI’s archive labels Advertisement No. CRPD/ARMOURERS/2023-24/13 “Final Result Announced” and links separate final select lists for Armourers and CROs. Both lists are dated 13 January 2025 and use application-state, registration, and roll numbers. Use the official recruitment archive to open the notices and lists rather than relying on screenshots or forwarded messages.
SBI warns about fake selection letters and lists. Its careers authenticity guidance says recruitment notices, schedules, and results are published only through official SBI careers sites; the bank publishes roll or registration numbers online and contacts selected candidates individually.
