The reviewed SASSA guidance does not give one payment date for every SRD beneficiary or a complete month-by-month calendar for 2025. To find your date for an approved period, check your SRD status and look for the pay-day field. If it is blank, SASSA says payment has not yet been processed. The dates below are historical, not upcoming payment dates.
How to check your SASSA SRD payment date
- Open SASSA’s SRD status guidance and follow its instructions to check the status for the relevant period.
- If the period is approved, look for the pay-day field. SASSA’s guidance says that this field shows the date when available.
- If no pay-day value appears, the guidance says payment has not yet been processed. Approval for a period alone does not mean the payment has already been processed.
The status guidance is an older document and uses R350 wording. It supports the described status and pay-day process, but it does not establish the current grant amount or a 2025 payment calendar.
What is known about 2025 payment dates
The Citizen reported that approved SRD payments for January 2025 were processed from 25 to 31 January. That is a secondary report about January only, not an official SASSA announcement or a schedule for the rest of the year: The Citizen’s January 2025 SRD payment report.
The reviewed sources do not establish a complete official list of monthly SRD R370 payment dates for 2025. Do not treat dates for older-person, disability or children’s grants as SRD dates; those grants have separate schedules. For an individual payment, the period-specific status and pay-day field are the applicable guidance.

What SRD status messages mean
Period Approved
This means the application is approved for that period. Check the pay-day field to see whether a payment date is shown; approval by itself is not confirmation that payment has been processed.
Period Pending
SASSA’s status guidance defines this as verification for that period still being pending.

Referred
In a notice published by the South African Government on 20 January 2025, SASSA said a “referred” status means the system suspects fraudulent activity and advised beneficiaries to contact the agency. The notice also warned that repeatedly changing banking details or contact numbers can delay payment. It quoted SASSA Mpumalanga spokesperson Senzeni Ngubeni: “Beneficiaries are warned not to keep on changing their banking details and contact numbers because those processes delay the payment processes.” Read the dated SASSA notice.
When to contact SASSA
If your status is referred, or you need help with a payment-date or application problem, SASSA lists 0800 60 10 11 for pay-out-date information and application assistance. SASSA says calls are toll-free from landlines; calls from cellular phones may cost money.

Dated cellphone and banking guidance
A SASSA statement published by the South African Government on 6 November 2025 says applicants should use cellphone numbers registered in their own names and that payment follows verification of banking details in a later pay run.
