Samsung’s current U.S. early-upgrade offering is New Galaxy Club. It is not a permanent, all-phone “Samsung Upgrade Program”: Samsung’s published terms limit original enrollment to selected Galaxy S25 purchases made through Samsung.com before June 20, 2025, excluding Verizon-locked and carrier-financed models. In 2026, the practical use case is therefore an existing enrolled S25 member upgrading through Samsung.com, including to the Galaxy S26 series.
For that customer, the program can make sense when an upgrade after 12 months is certain, the included year of Samsung Care+ has value, and the program benefit beats Samsung’s ordinary trade-in or a carrier promotion. It is usually a poor fit for people who keep phones for two or more years, want to sell to anyone, or are buying a new phone without confirmed eligibility.
What Samsung New Galaxy Club actually is
New Galaxy Club is a paid early-upgrade benefit attached to an eligible Samsung.com phone purchase. After at least 12 monthly program payments, you may return the original enrolled Galaxy S25 and receive an upgrade benefit toward a qualifying Samsung.com purchase.
It is different from several products that are often confused with it:

- Ordinary Samsung trade-in: a separate, device-specific credit whose amount changes with model, condition, promotion and date.
- Samsung Financing: a way to pay for the phone; it is not the upgrade benefit itself.
- Samsung Care+: protection coverage; New Galaxy Club includes one year of Care+ without Theft and Loss coverage under the published terms.
- Carrier upgrades: carrier installment and bill-credit offers with their own plan and lock-in requirements.
- A lease: New Galaxy Club is not a fixed-term lease that lets you automatically keep the phone after a set number of payments.
The enrolled S25 must be returned. The benefit is either Samsung paying the remaining installments on that original device or a trade-in credit, depending on how the original purchase was paid.

Availability in 2026: who can enroll and who can upgrade
Samsung’s published U.S. terms state that New Galaxy Club was available for selected new Galaxy S25-series purchases made before June 20, 2025. Verizon-locked models and carrier-financed purchases are excluded, and enrollment and upgrades are handled through Samsung.com.
Samsung’s current upgrade page shows the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra as destinations for eligible existing members. That does not establish a new enrollment offer for every S26 buyer. A person purchasing an S26 in 2026 should verify that New Galaxy Club appears at checkout rather than relying on promotional wording such as “Join today.”

The 12-month totals are program fees only. They exclude the phone price, taxes, shipping, financing interest and the cost of the replacement phone. Samsung’s terms list financing rates from 0% to 36% APR, depending on the financing option and customer eligibility; Affirm Pay in 4 is listed at 0% APR, subject to availability and approval. Do not assume that a small Club fee makes the phone financing interest-free.
The fee includes one year of Samsung Care+ without Theft and Loss coverage. If you keep the phone beyond month 12, Samsung says the then-current full Care+ price may begin in month 13 unless you cancel that service.
How an upgrade works after 12 payments
- Make at least 12 New Galaxy Club payments and wait for the original device to become eligible.
- Begin the upgrade on Samsung.com and select a qualifying new Samsung phone.
- Enter or verify the IMEI of the original enrolled S25.
- Review the benefit based on your original payment method.
- Return that exact S25 under Samsung’s trade-in requirements.
- Pay the replacement phone’s remaining price after the Club benefit, current promotions and any other credit.
The program does not pay for the next phone in full. It reduces the amount due or removes the remaining balance on the original device, as described below.
The benefit depends on how you bought the original S25
Samsung Financing
If the S25 was purchased with Samsung Financing, Samsung pays the remaining installment balance on that original device when you upgrade and return it, provided all program requirements are met. You still finance or pay for the replacement phone.

One-time payment or Pay in 4
If you paid the original phone in full or used Pay in 4, Samsung provides a trade-in credit equal to 50% of the original device’s price, subject to the terms. This is not cash back: it is credit applied to a Samsung.com purchase, and Samsung receives the S25.
Current upgrade destinations
When checked, Samsung’s upgrade page displayed starting prices of $899.99 for Galaxy S26, $1,099.99 for S26+ and $1,299.99 for S26 Ultra before the upgrade benefit. These are time-sensitive page prices, not permanent MSRP or a promise that every member receives the same promotion.
What happens if you keep the phone or cancel
You do not upgrade at month 12
You may keep using the S25, but the subscription does not stop automatically. Samsung says the full monthly Club fee continues until you upgrade and trade in the original device or cancel. Care+ charges may also begin in month 13.
You cancel
Cancellation stops future Club charges but removes the upgrade benefit and the associated Care+ subscription. Past monthly fees are not refunded. Samsung’s FAQ describes a refund of the initial monthly fee when the device is returned within the applicable return window; check the current FAQ and terms together because cancellation and return language can differ.

You want another upgrade before a year
Samsung says members can upgrade only after 12 months and only once per device.
Trade-in condition, IMEI and shipping rules
The New Galaxy Club benefit requires the original enrolled S25, verified by IMEI. You cannot substitute a different Galaxy phone. Samsung’s general trade-in requirements generally require that the device:
- powers on, holds a charge and does not shut down unexpectedly;
- has a functioning display without black spots or pixelation;
- is reset and cleared of personal information; and
- is shipped within the stated deadline.
Samsung’s trade-in FAQ says customers generally have 15 days after receiving the new device to send the old one. A late, missing or rejected trade-in can result in Samsung charging back the credited amount.
Before shipping, back up the phone, factory-reset it, remove Samsung and Google accounts, disable device-locking services, photograph its condition and IMEI, record the package contents, and keep the receipt and tracking number. Care+ is not unrestricted damage coverage; deductibles, exclusions and claim rules apply, and the published Club benefit does not include Theft and Loss.

Real cost examples
Paying in full
Assume an eligible S25 originally cost $1,000 and was paid in full:
- Club fees for 12 months: $8.33 × 12 = $99.96.
- Potential Club credit after 12 months: $500, assuming the 50% rule applies to the original price.
- Additional program cost before assigning a value to Care+: $99.96.
- You still buy the replacement phone and return the S25.
This is attractive only if ordinary Samsung trade-in value would be below $500, you value the included Care+ year, and you are certain to upgrade after 12 months. A launch promotion could make ordinary trade-in more valuable.
Using Samsung Financing
For a financed S25, do not use the $500 calculation. Your relevant comparison is 12 months of installments plus Club fees, less Samsung’s payoff of the remaining original-device balance when you return the phone, with taxes, interest and the replacement-phone cost added separately.
New Galaxy Club versus other ways to upgrade
Samsung’s standard trade-in
Standard trade-in values change by model, condition, promotion and date. Check the live estimator at Samsung Trade-In at the same time you price the new phone. This option is often better for buyers who cannot enroll or who find a large launch credit, and it does not impose the Club’s recurring fee.

Selling yourself may produce more than a fixed Club credit, but you take on listing work, negotiation, fraud and payment risk, shipping or meeting risk, and responsibility for describing condition. There is no guaranteed 12-month upgrade window.
Carrier promotion
Carrier offers may advertise a larger credit but commonly require a qualifying unlimited plan, carrier installments and monthly bill credits over a fixed period. Leaving early can forfeit remaining credits. Compare total plan and device costs, not the headline credit alone. New Galaxy Club is a Samsung.com program, not a carrier upgrade policy.
Who should consider it?
Strong fit
- Existing eligible S25 members who upgrade every year or roughly every 12–18 months.
- Samsung.com shoppers who would otherwise finance a phone and value Samsung paying the remaining original balance.
- Customers who would buy Samsung Care+ anyway.
- People willing to return the exact original device and complete the transaction through Samsung.com.
Weak fit
- Owners who keep phones for two, three or four years.
- Buyers who can sell privately for more or qualify for a stronger carrier or Samsung trade-in promotion.
- People who may forget to cancel recurring fees after deciding not to upgrade.
- Anyone wanting freedom to switch to an iPhone, Pixel, another retailer or a different carrier.
- New buyers who cannot confirm New Galaxy Club eligibility at checkout.
Decision checklist
- Was my original purchase an eligible S25 made before June 20, 2025?
- Is the phone I will return the original enrolled device, with the matching IMEI?
- Will I genuinely upgrade after 12 payments?
- Is the Club benefit higher than today’s ordinary Samsung trade-in and realistic private-sale value?
- Would I otherwise pay for Care+?
- Have I included taxes, financing interest, plan costs, deductibles and the replacement phone?
- Will I remember to cancel if I keep the S25?
Verdict
New Galaxy Club is worth considering for an existing eligible S25 member who wants a predictable Samsung.com upgrade after one year and values the included Care+ coverage. It is not a universal S26 enrollment route, not cash back and not a free-phone program. For most long-term owners and for new shoppers without confirmed eligibility, compare Samsung’s live trade-in value, private-sale proceeds and carrier’s total cost before choosing it.
