Yes—Samsung offers eligible U.S. buyers a trade-in credit and haul-away for an old TV when they buy a qualifying new Samsung television. It is not a free-TV exchange: the credit varies by eligible model and current promotion, and Samsung shows the amount in the cart after you enter the old TV’s brand and screen size. Confirm the credit and pickup details before paying.
What Samsung’s TV trade-in offer actually is
Samsung combines a promotional credit toward a new qualifying TV with pickup of the old set for haul-away and recycling. Under the U.S. program terms, the purchase must be made on Samsung.com or through the Shop Samsung App, and the credit is applied at checkout rather than paid separately in cash. Once you hand over the old TV, it becomes Samsung’s property; you cannot later ask for it back.
Samsung’s trade-in page describes the old TV as eligible regardless of brand or screen size. That does not establish that every set or condition will be accepted in every order: the old TV must be available for pickup as required, and any condition questions in the order flow should be answered accurately.
Who can use the U.S. program?
Samsung’s published U.S. terms limit participation to legal residents of the 50 states and the District of Columbia who are at least 18. The qualifying TV must be bought on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App for personal, household, or family use. The terms allow one old TV per qualifying new-TV purchase. Other countries may have different trade-up programs, rules, and values.

How to check eligibility and the credit

Choose a Samsung TV on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App, and confirm the product is marked as trade-in eligible. Samsung’s TV and home-theater offers page can help you find current offers, but an item appearing there does not by itself confirm a trade-in credit.

Add the TV to your cart and select the TV trade-in option.

Enter the old TV’s brand and diagonal screen size as requested.

Check that the trade-in credit appears as a deduction in the cart, then review the final price before completing the order.

Eligibility belongs to the specific new model and active offer—not simply its resolution. Some 4K and some 8K sets may qualify, but neither label guarantees it. The current product page and cart are the practical check; Samsung’s terms say eligible models and promotional values can change.
How much is your old TV worth?
There is no universal current amount to quote. Samsung displays the credit after you select an eligible new TV and enter the old set’s brand and size. The amount can vary with the new model and the active promotion, so use the cart for the exact purchase date rather than relying on an older article or offer.
For historical context only, Samsung announced a $50 rebate for selected 2025 products, including examples in its Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED 4K lines. That 2025 announcement is not a promise of a $50 credit on a 2026 order.
What to check before placing the order

Verify the exact credit is deducted in the cart, not merely that a trade-in option is visible.

Review taxes, delivery, installation, and any financing cost separately. Samsung’s terms say taxes and delivery fees remain payable even when a trade-in credit is applied.

Confirm the new TV’s delivery address and that the old TV will be ready at the same place and time.

Read the terms for any other coupon, bundle, student, military, financing, or retailer offer you hope to combine. Samsung’s program terms limit use of the traded-in TV and qualifying purchase to one Samsung offer or promotion under the program; stacking should not be assumed. Separate offers can have their own restrictions, as illustrated by Samsung’s 2026 multi-product promotion.
Prepare the old TV for delivery day

Make the TV accessible where the new set will be delivered. The old TV must be ready for pickup at the same location and time as delivery of the new TV.

If it is wall-mounted, check whether your selected delivery or installation service includes removal. Do not assume the crew will take it off the wall or remove the mount. Samsung’s general trade-in information indicates that installation-related removal may depend on the service selected.

Disconnect cables, streaming devices, game consoles, antennas, soundbars, and other accessories. Do not send a remote, stand, mount, or cable unless you are willing to lose it; items handed over may not be returned.

Back up anything you want to keep, sign out of accounts, remove saved passwords and personal information, and factory-reset the TV. Samsung’s terms place responsibility for removing data and accessories on the customer.

Photograph the set and note its model or serial number if you want a personal record. Do not hand it over until you have decided that the credit and convenience are worth giving it up.

What if the old TV is not ready when the new one arrives?
This is the key financial risk. Samsung’s terms say that if the old TV is not available for pickup, you agree to repay the full promotional credit; Samsung may charge the original payment method. Situations such as leaving the set mounted, having it at another address, selling or discarding it first, or expecting pickup during a later appointment could make same-time collection difficult. Those are practical examples of the pickup requirement, not separate exceptions to the published terms.
Before ordering, also verify that the delivery arrangement includes access to the room where the old TV is located. If the order is for curbside delivery or a third party is delivering the new set, do not assume Samsung’s delivery partner will collect the old TV.
Can you get the old TV back if you return the new one?
No. Samsung’s published terms say the traded-in TV cannot be returned, even if you later return the new television during its return period. Treat the handover as permanent, and do not trade in a set you intend to sell or keep as a spare.
Is trading in better than selling or recycling it yourself?
Compare the cart credit with realistic alternatives instead of treating the credit as the TV’s market value. Samsung’s offer can be appealing when the set has little resale value and you value convenient removal. A private sale may bring in more for a recent, large, or premium TV, but requires listing it, handling messages and negotiation, and arranging transport. Independent recycling may make more sense if you are not buying a Samsung TV or the credit is small.

Samsung effective value = checkout credit + avoided disposal or haul-away cost − extra delivery, installation, or financing costs.
Then compare that result with the likely net proceeds from a private sale and the cost or effort of disposal. The trade-in is not automatically the cheapest overall deal: compare the new TV’s total price with equivalent offers, including delivery, installation, taxes, financing, and any bundle incentives.
