Samsung launched its 2025 Smart Monitor lineup in South Korea on June 25, 2025: the 32-inch QD-OLED M9 (M90SF), 32-inch VA M8 (M80F), and 32- or 43-inch VA M7 (M70F). Korean manufacturer list prices were ₩1,990,000 for the M9, ₩900,000 for the M8 and ₩560,000–₩690,000 for the M7, depending on size and color. These are Korean launch prices, not current U.S. retail prices.

Samsung’s 2025 Smart Monitor lineup at a glance

Samsung’s Korean announcement introduced three distinct tiers rather than three equivalent monitors. The official Korean release confirms the June 25, 2025 launch date, model codes and launch pricing.

Monitor Model code Korean launch size Panel and role Korean list price Notable positioning
Smart Monitor M9 M90SF 32 inches 4K QD-OLED flagship ₩1,990,000 Premium gaming, media and smart features
Smart Monitor M8 M80F 32 inches 4K VA all-in-one monitor ₩900,000 Lifestyle-focused 4K workspace and streaming
Smart Monitor M7 M70F 32 and 43 inches in Korea 4K VA value model ₩560,000–₩690,000 Lowest price and largest-screen flexibility

Samsung’s global announcement emphasizes 32-inch M8 and M7 versions, so the 43-inch M7 should be treated as a Korean-market configuration rather than assumed to be available everywhere. Regional sizes, ports, accessories, apps and remote controls can differ.

What the M9 adds for its premium

The M9 is Samsung’s first Smart Monitor with a QD-OLED panel. It combines 4K resolution with up to a 165Hz refresh rate and a claimed 0.03ms response time. Samsung confirms NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Pantone Color Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated certification, and its OLED Safeguard+ protection system in the Korean announcement.

  • ENJOY YOUR CONTENT IN VIVID DETAIL: Watch your content come to life with incredible clarity.⁵ 4K UHD resolution enhances even fine details in images and videos, making worlds feel more vibrant and realistic.

Those specifications make the M9 the gaming-oriented member of the family, while its Smart TV software, Samsung Gaming Hub, webcam and microphones are intended to cover streaming, video calls and PC-free use. Samsung’s global announcement describes the 32-inch 4K QD-OLED design and its AI-powered features: Samsung’s global M9 release.

AI and connectivity claims need a regional qualification

The M9 includes Samsung Vision AI and 4K AI Upscaling Pro. Upscaling enhances supported lower-resolution content toward 4K; it is not the same as displaying native 4K, and Samsung says results vary by content and may not apply to PC connections or Game Mode.

SamMobile reports a glare-reduced coating, 250-nit typical and 400-nit peak brightness, DisplayHDR True Black 400, 10W stereo speakers, a 5MP webcam with 4K video and IR, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C with up to 90W charging, USB-A, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 and AirPlay 2. Verify those details against the exact regional SKU because Samsung can change configurations by market: SamMobile’s specification report.

OLED protection is mitigation, not a guarantee

QD-OLED can deliver deeper blacks and stronger contrast than a VA LCD, but static logos, taskbars and other fixed elements still create long-term image-retention concerns. OLED Safeguard+ is designed to reduce that risk; it does not make the M9 burn-in-proof.

Where the M8 fits

The M8 is a 32-inch 4K VA Smart Monitor with a Warm White finish in Korea. It keeps the family’s built-in smart-TV apps, PC-free streaming and Samsung ecosystem tools while avoiding the M9’s OLED and high-refresh premium. Its appeal is a clean, lifestyle-oriented 4K screen for office work, streaming and general home use rather than maximum gaming performance.

Choose the M8 when a 32-inch 4K hybrid workspace matters more than OLED contrast, 165Hz gaming or the M9’s webcam and premium display hardware. Its Korean launch list price was ₩900,000.

What changes with the M7

The M7 is the value tier and the only model announced in both 32-inch and 43-inch Korean versions. Samsung listed White and Black finishes and a Korean launch range of ₩560,000–₩690,000. The announcement does not map each price to a specific size-and-color combination, so that mapping should not be inferred.

The 43-inch M7 can serve as a small-room TV/monitor hybrid or a very large productivity display, and the range is compatible with Samsung’s Moving Stand accessories. On a normal desk, however, 43 inches demands more viewing distance and desk depth than a 32-inch screen; its size is not automatically an ergonomic upgrade.

Samsung’s Korean release describes Active Voice Pro for the lineup but specifies ordinary Active Voice for the M7. Those labels should not be treated as identical features.

Smart features, accounts and regional limits

All three models are designed to run streaming and other smart functions without a connected computer. Samsung lists Smart TV apps, Samsung TV Plus, Samsung Vision AI, SmartThings, Knox security, Multi Control and Microsoft 365 or Workspace-related productivity functions, with webcam support on compatible models: Samsung’s Smart Monitor information.

  • App catalogs, supported services, interface behavior and accessories vary by country, model, network and service provider.
  • Full smart functionality requires a Samsung Account and an internet connection for network services.
  • The U.S. Smart Monitor page says these products do not include a conventional TV tuner; television-style viewing relies on streaming apps or services such as Samsung TV Plus where available.
  • Samsung promotes seven years of monitor updates, while its U.S. footnotes separately state that security updates are guaranteed for at least five years from launch. The exact scope of the seven-year statement should be confirmed for the relevant market.

Korean launch promotions were temporary

Samsung’s Korean launch announcement described a notification-signup coupon of up to ₩150,000 valid June 25 through July 4, 2025. It also bundled a Harman Kardon LUNA speaker with M9 purchases and a JBL FLIP 7 speaker with M8 purchases. M7 buyers could add a Moving Stand for up to ₩150,000. These were launch-period offers and expired in July 2025; they are not current discounts.

How far apart were the launch prices?

Using Samsung’s Korean list prices, the M9 was about 2.21 times the M8 price (₩1.99 million versus ₩900,000). Compared with the M7 range, it was about 2.88 to 3.55 times as expensive. Those ratios describe the Korean launch MSRP only, not current street prices or U.S. pricing.

Which 2025 Smart Monitor should you choose?

Choose the M9 for OLED gaming and one-device versatility

  • You value OLED black levels, 165Hz gaming and very fast response.
  • You will actually use the webcam, AI features, Gaming Hub and smart-TV apps.
  • You accept OLED image-retention precautions and the substantially higher launch price.

Choose the M8 for a polished 32-inch hybrid workspace

  • You want 4K, streaming and Samsung ecosystem integration without paying for OLED.
  • You prefer a slimmer, lifestyle-oriented design and do not need high-refresh gaming hardware.

Choose the M7 for value or a 43-inch setup

  • Price and screen size matter more than premium panel technology.
  • You want the lowest entry point or a large display for a room, desk or TV/monitor hybrid.
  • The Moving Stand is useful to your setup and the local market actually carries the desired size.

Alternatives to consider

If you do not need Samsung’s integrated software, compare the M9’s role with a conventional 4K OLED gaming monitor plus a streaming device, a 4K IPS monitor paired with a computer, a Samsung TV used as a display, or a standard 32-inch 4K monitor. Those approaches may provide a simpler software experience, different connectivity or a lower total cost, but this launch information does not establish current model pricing for them.

Bottom line

Samsung’s 2025 Korean lineup is a clear three-step choice: the M9 is the premium 32-inch QD-OLED gaming and media machine; the M8 is the balanced 32-inch 4K VA smart workspace; and the M7 is the affordable, size-flexible VA option, including a Korean 43-inch version. The M9’s OLED and gaming hardware explain its more-than-double launch price over the M8, while the M7 remains the sensible pick when value, streaming and screen area outweigh contrast and refresh-rate advantages.
