Which size was the best value?
Best percentage discount: 65 inches
At $1,399, the 65-inch model was about 48.2% below its stated $2,699 regular price—the largest percentage reduction in the table. It combined a living-room-friendly size with a lower outlay than the 77- and 83-inch versions, making it the standout deal on the advertised figures.

Largest dollar saving: 83 inches
The 83-inch television saved $2,100, the maximum advertised amount, but still cost $3,299. A larger discount does not make it the least expensive choice: the 83-inch price was more than twice the 65-inch price before taxes and installation.
Lowest entry price: 42 inches
The 42-inch model was the cheapest route into the lineup at $899. It is better suited to a bedroom, office, dorm or desk than to a large-room home-cinema setup.
Practical size choices
- 48 inches: A compact living-room or gaming display when the extra $100 over 42 inches fits the budget.
- 55 inches: The conventional starting point for a moderate living room at $1,299.
- 65 inches: The strongest advertised percentage bargain when the room and budget support a larger screen.
- 77 or 83 inches: Appropriate only with sufficient viewing distance, wall or furniture space, delivery access and installation budget.
What the Samsung S90D offered
Samsung positioned the 2024 S90D as a flagship-level mainstream OLED and successor to the S85D. The deal coverage highlighted OLED black levels and contrast, bright whites, strong color performance and Pantone-validated color. It also cited Samsung’s HDR support, Motion Xcelerator 144Hz gaming feature, Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung TV Plus and Samsung Knox security branding.

“Best OLED TV Samsung has ever made” and similar superlatives are editorial opinions, not independently demonstrated rankings. The 144Hz reference is the feature claim in the original deal article; actual gaming performance depends on the exact size, model suffix, source device, settings and game.
Important compromises before buying
No Dolby Vision
The original coverage explicitly noted that Samsung televisions do not support Dolby Vision and instead use open HDR standards. If your streaming devices or disc collection prioritizes Dolby Vision, verify that limitation against your intended setup before choosing an S90D.
OLED usage risks
OLED panels can develop image retention or burn-in under some long-term usage patterns, especially with static logos, desktop interfaces, news tickers or game HUDs. That risk is usage-dependent rather than a guarantee that a particular S90D will fail.

Model and regional variation
Confirm the complete model number and regional suffix. Internal panel hardware, included accessories and specifications can vary by size, market and retailer, so do not assume every S90D listed online is identical beyond screen size.
Why the 2024 discount should not be treated as the lowest possible price
A later Android Headlines article dated March 17, 2025 listed the S90D at $997 (42-inch), $1,047 (48-inch), $1,197 (55-inch), $1,497 (65-inch), $2,197 (77-inch) and $3,297 (83-inch). That later report was lower than the Black Friday figures for the 55-, 77- and 83-inch sizes, showing why a stated “regular price” is not the same as a verified historical market low.

Clearance-stock checklist
- Match the full model number, screen size and regional suffix to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Confirm whether the set is new, open-box, refurbished or a display unit.
- Check that the seller is authorized and that the manufacturer warranty applies.
- Read the retailer’s return, restocking, dead-pixel, delivery and installation policies.
- Get the delivered total, including tax, freight, installation and any protection plan, before comparing prices.
- Verify the panel, accessories and cosmetic condition at delivery and document damage immediately.
How it compares with alternatives
If an S90D is unavailable or overpriced, compare current models rather than assuming an older clearance set is a bargain. Samsung’s current OLED range is at Samsung OLED TVs; its broader lineup is at Samsung TVs. LG OLED models are listed at LG OLED TVs, and Sony BRAVIA televisions at Sony’s television store. Check each current model for Dolby Vision, gaming inputs, processing, warranty and live price.

Who should buy—and who should skip—an S90D?
- Consider it if you want OLED contrast, Samsung’s interface and gaming ecosystem, and the exact clearance price is genuinely below comparable newer OLEDs.
- Skip or compare carefully if Dolby Vision is essential, the television will show static content for long periods, or a newer generation is similarly priced.
- Be especially cautious with an 83-inch set if your room, delivery path, mounting surface or installation budget is marginal.
Verdict
The November 26, 2024 promotion was real historical deal coverage, not a live 2026 offer. On the published figures, the 65-inch S90D was the best percentage bargain at about 48.2% off, while the 83-inch model delivered the largest dollar saving at $2,100. Treat any remaining S90D as older or clearance inventory: verify the exact model, condition, warranty and delivered price, and compare it with current Samsung, LG and Sony OLED televisions before buying.
