What Samsung’s Forbes ranking actually says
Forbes’ World’s Best Employers is a global ranking, not a permanent designation. Forbes reported that Samsung Electronics had led the list for four consecutive years before placing third in 2024. Its 2024 coverage identifies Microsoft as the new No. 1.
The latest global edition located is the 2025 list, published October 8, 2025. Forbes’ 2025 article names Microsoft, Delta Air Lines, Alphabet and Adobe as the first four, respectively. It does not establish Samsung’s exact rank in the accessible article text, so it would be inaccurate to say Samsung topped that edition—or to assign it a specific 2025 position without verifying Forbes’ live table.

Do not confuse the global list with a U.S. ranking
Forbes publishes multiple employer lists. Its World’s Best Employers ranking is global; America’s Best Large Employers is a separate U.S.-focused list. Samsung ranked No. 20 in the 2026 edition of the latter, as shown in Forbes’ 2026 coverage and list. That result does not indicate Samsung’s position in the global ranking.

The company named in these results is Samsung Electronics, not necessarily every entity within the broader Samsung Group. Forbes’ company profile identifies Samsung Electronics separately.
How Forbes and Statista compile the global ranking
For the 2025 edition, Forbes says the list was produced with Statista using responses from more than 300,000 employees in more than 50 countries. The eligible employers were multinational corporations with more than 1,000 employees operating globally; the final ranking included 900 companies. Forbes describes employees rating their willingness to recommend an employer and assessing attributes including salary, career advancement, benefits, talent development, work environment, training, work-life balance and reputation. The methodology draws on assessments of current employers, former employers within the previous two years, and companies respondents know through industry or personal networks. It incorporates data from the prior three years, gives more weight to newer responses and places greater weight on current employees. That makes the result a multi-year survey-based assessment, not simply a vote taken in one year.
What Samsung’s movement does—and does not—show
Samsung’s move from No. 1 to No. 3 in 2024 shows a change in relative ranking, with Microsoft taking the top spot. The methodology does not identify a single cause for that movement. Changing employee sentiment, the mix of respondents, the weighting of recent data, or stronger results from competing employers could affect positions; the ranking alone cannot establish which factor did so.

Forbes’ 2024 article highlighted Samsung’s internal training platform, described as the “University of Samsung” or “UniverSE,” with 12 schools across three academies. Samsung’s scale, technical roles and training opportunities may help explain its appeal to some workers, but the published ranking does not prove that any one program caused its high placement.
How job seekers should use the ranking
A high position can be a useful signal of employer reputation and surveyed willingness to recommend a company. It cannot tell you whether a particular job is a good fit. Before making a decision, compare information that applies to the role, location and team you are considering:

- Look for employee feedback specific to the country, business unit and occupation, rather than relying on a global company-wide result.
- Review the actual compensation, benefits, working hours and location terms in the offer.
- Ask how promotion, training and performance reviews work for that role.
- Consider recent restructuring or team changes and speak with prospective colleagues where possible.
- Evaluate the manager and day-to-day responsibilities; a broad employer ranking cannot measure your experience with either.
What a Forbes employer ranking does not prove
- It does not show that Samsung is the best employer in every country, subsidiary, business unit or role.
- It does not mean every employee is satisfied, or establish that Samsung has the highest pay, best retention or lowest workplace risk.
- It is not a labor-practices audit or a census of all employees.
- A year-to-year change is not, by itself, evidence that workplace quality improved or declined. Survey respondents, weighting and the field of ranked companies can change.
Forbes says companies do not pay to participate or be selected. It also offers paid promotional products after recognition, such as reprints, premium profiles and award logos; those products are distinct from selection, as described in its explanation of how its best-employer lists are made.
