Samsung’s U.S. New Galaxy Club is real, but it is not a general subscription for anyone who wants a new Galaxy every year. It was tied to eligible Galaxy S25 purchases made through Samsung.com before June 20, 2025. Members who meet the program’s requirements can upgrade after at least 12 monthly payments by returning the original enrolled phone. They still pay for the replacement phone, and the upgrade benefit depends on how they bought the original device.
What Samsung New Galaxy Club is
In the United States, Samsung calls the service New Galaxy Club. It combines a monthly program fee, one year of Samsung Care+ benefits, and an upgrade benefit after the required waiting period. To use that benefit, a member must return the specific phone enrolled in the program. The benefit is applied toward a new Samsung phone; it is not a cash refund or a free replacement.
The distinction matters: New Galaxy Club is an early-upgrade and trade-in arrangement, not a promise that Samsung will provide a new phone every year at no further cost. The customer pays the replacement phone’s current price after the applicable upgrade credit and any eligible promotion.
Can new customers join now?
Samsung’s U.S. terms limit the offer to selected Galaxy S25 models purchased before June 20, 2025. Samsung’s current upgrade page is for eligible existing S25 New Galaxy Club members moving to the Galaxy S26 series. Do not assume that buying an S26—or any other Galaxy now—makes you eligible to enroll.

The U.S. offer was sold through Samsung.com, not carrier stores or other retailers. Carrier-financed purchases are excluded under the terms. The eligible list includes selected Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge models, but Samsung’s model descriptions are not always identical across its pages. Check the exact model and purchase date against the current terms rather than assuming every S25 variant qualifies.
What it costs
The club fee is separate from the phone’s purchase price, taxes, and any financing cost. Based on Samsung’s listed monthly fees, the first 12 months of club fees total $74.40 for an S25 or $99.96 for an S25+ or S25 Ultra.

Samsung says the fee includes one year of Samsung Care+ benefits. Its U.S. terms specify that the included coverage does not include Theft and Loss. Starting in month 13, the full then-current Care+ charge applies unless the customer cancels the applicable coverage or program. The exact Care+ charge depends on the applicable terms; Samsung has advertised the included benefit as worth up to $156, but that is not a cash rebate and its value varies by device and coverage terms.

Samsung lists financing rates from 0% to 36% APR for Samsung Financing, subject to approval and terms. Affirm Pay in 4 is listed at 0% APR, subject to eligibility and availability. Actual approval, APR, down payment, and financing provider can change the total cost, so compare the offer shown for your transaction rather than treating a listed rate as guaranteed.
How the 12-month upgrade works
- Meet the waiting period. At least 12 monthly New Galaxy Club payments must have been made before using the upgrade benefit.
- Start the replacement purchase through Samsung.com. Follow Samsung’s upgrade instructions and choose an eligible new phone.
- Identify the enrolled phone. Enter the enrolled device’s IMEI when requested. Samsung uses it to verify that the correct phone is being returned.
- Return that phone as instructed. Complete Samsung’s trade-in process within its stated deadline and follow the applicable condition and shipping requirements.
- Pay the remaining new-phone price. Samsung applies the relevant upgrade benefit and any eligible promotion. You pay what remains.
The S26 upgrade page listed starting prices of $899.99 for Galaxy S26, $1,099.99 for S26+, and $1,299.99 for S26 Ultra before the upgrade credit. Those were Samsung.com prices shown in the program materials, not price guarantees for a later purchase. Samsung’s U.S. mobile page says the S26 series followed its February 25, 2026 Unpacked event; check the live upgrade page for the price and promotion applicable when you order.
Your upgrade benefit depends on how you paid

For Samsung Financing, the value of the benefit depends on the installment balance remaining when the customer qualifies. For a paid-in-full or Pay-in-4 purchase, the stated 50% is based on the original device price, not necessarily what the customer paid after discounts. In each case, the credit is applied to the new phone and the customer must complete the return.

What if you keep the phone, cancel, or cannot return it?
If you keep the phone after month 12
Reaching month 12 does not trigger an automatic payout or end the membership. You can keep using the phone, but the club fee continues until you upgrade or cancel. Samsung says full then-current Care+ charges begin in month 13 unless you cancel the applicable coverage.
If you cancel
Samsung says cancellation is available through My Account or Customer Service. It stops future program charges but forfeits the upgrade benefit, and past monthly fees are normally not refunded. The terms provide a separate exception for cancellation within 24 hours of the transaction, when the first monthly payment may be refunded. Cancellation after that period does not qualify for that transaction-period refund.

The upgrade requires returning the enrolled phone, and Samsung verifies it using its IMEI. Do not assume a different phone, a locked device, or a damaged device will qualify. Samsung’s normal trade-in conditions apply, including requirements concerning function, damage, account locks, reset, and timely shipment. Review the current Samsung trade-in terms before shipping; failure to complete the return or satisfy those terms can affect the expected credit or result in charges under the applicable conditions.

If you want to upgrade again quickly
Samsung’s U.S. FAQ says the first upgrade is available only after 12 months from the original S25 purchase and limits the program to one upgrade per enrolled device.

New Galaxy Club offers a defined route for an eligible member who wants to return an enrolled phone and move to a new Samsung device after roughly a year. That convenience may be useful if you buy directly from Samsung, prefer not to arrange a private sale, and already expect to upgrade on that schedule.
It is not automatically the highest-value route. Samsung’s standard trade-in program may offer model- and promotion-specific credit without a club enrollment, while a private sale may return more—or may take more effort and involve more risk. Carrier promotions can also change the comparison, but carrier-financed purchases do not qualify for this U.S. club. Compare current offers for the same model, storage, condition, and purchase timing; do not compare the club’s stated credit with a different phone, promotion, or financing assumption.

A useful comparison is to calculate the full one-year cost: original phone price plus 12 club fees and financing costs, minus the value you assign to included Care+ coverage and minus the upgrade credit. Then compare that with buying normally and using Samsung’s current trade-in offer, selling privately, or keeping the phone for two or more years. Include taxes, any promotional discount, and the price of the replacement phone in each scenario. If a Samsung.com promotion is active, verify its dates, eligible models, and whether it stacks with the club benefit before relying on it; the S26 page described a limited pre-order promotion, and promotional credit can change over time.
Who is likely to benefit?
- Potentially a fit: an existing eligible member who buys Samsung flagships directly from Samsung, expects to upgrade after about 12 months, is comfortable returning the enrolled device, and values the convenience and included first-year Care+ benefit.
- Probably a poor fit: someone who keeps phones for two or more years, buys through a carrier, wants to sell independently, switches brands often, needs Theft and Loss coverage included, or expects the club to cover the full replacement-phone price.
- Use extra care: if you may keep the S25 beyond a year, set a reminder to review or cancel the membership so continuing fees and month-13 Care+ charges do not surprise you.
Do not assume the U.S. terms apply elsewhere
Samsung uses similar club or annual-upgrade language in multiple countries, but the rules differ by market. For example, Samsung Canada announced a separate Annual Upgrade Program on February 27, 2026, with one-year and two-year payment structures. That is not the U.S. New Galaxy Club described here; consult the local terms for the country where you bought the phone.
