Samsung lists the Galaxy Z Fold7 from $1,999.99 before trade-in and advertises eligible trade-in savings, but the exact $300-plus-512GB promotion is not shown. Treat that headline as expired, regional, retailer-specific or otherwise unverified until both discounts appear in your Samsung cart.
What the advertised deal would need to provide
Two separate benefits are implied:
- $300 instant savings: a checkout discount, not merely the normal value of an old phone, a later rebate or a carrier’s monthly bill credits.
- Free 512GB upgrade: the 512GB model would need to cost no more than the 256GB model after the promotion is applied.
Samsung’s current U.S. Galaxy Z Fold7 offer page does not display either benefit as a confirmed, universal promotion. Check the exact storage tier, sales channel, color, model and payment method before relying on a banner or article headline.

U.S. Galaxy Z Fold7 list prices
Samsung’s U.S. MSRP sheet lists these unlocked prices. They are reference prices, not a promise of the current checkout total.

The normal 256GB-to-512GB gap is therefore $120, not $300. A genuine free-upgrade promotion would waive that $120 difference; it would not automatically mean that Samsung is giving $300 worth of storage.

What Samsung currently advertises
Samsung’s Fold7 page shows a starting price of $1,999.99 before trade-in and says eligible devices can receive instant trade-in savings. The trade-in amount is selected dynamically and can change by model and condition.
Samsung’s broader U.S. phone-offers page uses wording of up to $1,000 in instant trade-in credit or up to $500 off without trade-in. Its footnote dates the referenced up-to-$500 promotion to July 6–19, 2026, while supplies last. That dated promotion should not be presented as automatically active on August 18 or later.

See Samsung’s U.S. phone-offers page for the wording and terms. “Up to” is a maximum for qualifying devices, not a universal reduction from every Fold7 purchase.
How to verify the offer in Samsung’s cart
- Open the Fold7 purchase page.
- Select the exact storage capacity, color and unlocked or carrier configuration you want.
- Choose Trade-in, then select the precise old-device model and condition.
- Record the instant credit shown in the cart. Do not call the entire amount a $300 discount unless a separate $300 line item appears.
- Check whether the 512GB price is equal to or below the 256GB price, or whether a separate $120 storage adjustment is shown.
- Review the subtotal before tax and shipping. Confirm that no required accessory, subscription, activation or carrier plan has been added.
- Open the promotion terms and note the expiration date, eligible colors, storage tiers, channels and payment methods.
- Compare the product page and cart; the cart controls the amount you will actually pay.

How Samsung instant trade-in credit works
The anticipated trade-in credit reduces the checkout amount, but it remains conditional on Samsung receiving an eligible device.
- Back up the old phone, remove accounts, SIM and memory cards, then factory-reset it.
- Ship it within 15 days of receiving the new Fold7.
- Samsung inspects the device against the model and condition declared in the order.
- If it is late or fails the requirements, Samsung can charge back the credit. In the rejection scenario described in its terms, the chargeback is reduced by $25.
A device generally must power on, hold a charge and have a functioning display. Cracks, liquid damage, blacklist status, software locks and other defects can disqualify it. Leased phones are ineligible unless purchased first, and devices with installment balances generally must be paid off.

If Samsung rejects the device, request its return through the order system. After Samsung accepts a trade-in, ownership transfers and it generally cannot be returned. Read the current Samsung trade-in FAQ before shipping.
Can the discounts be combined?
Do not assume that trade-in credit, a no-trade-in discount, storage pricing, account coupons, student or employee pricing, payment-method offers, Samsung Rewards, accessories and carrier incentives stack. Samsung says trade-in promotions generally cannot be combined with other Samsung, carrier or retailer promotions unless the specific terms permit it.

Samsung also distinguishes its instant trade-in discount from carrier bill credits; the cited FAQ says the programs cannot be combined. A coupon that works without trade-in may disappear when trade-in is selected, and an app-only promotion may differ from the website.

A carrier can produce a lower total device cost, but compare the required plan, activation fees, taxes, payoff rules and lost credits—not just the advertised monthly payment. Samsung’s instant credit and the carrier’s bill-credit program should be treated as alternatives unless written terms explicitly allow both.
When the Fold7 promotion is attractive
- Your cart shows a separate $300 reduction without requiring a carrier line.
- The 512GB configuration is priced at or below the 256GB configuration.
- Your old phone meets Samsung’s condition, ownership and payoff requirements.
- You want an unlocked device and can ship the trade-in within 15 days.
When to wait or choose a carrier
- The $300 is only the old phone’s estimated trade-in value, not a bonus.
- The 512GB option still costs the normal $120 premium.
- Your device is damaged, financed, leased, locked or potentially blacklisted.
- A carrier offers larger bill credits and you can keep its qualifying plan until all credits post.
- You may return the Fold7 after sending the old phone, creating ownership and refund complications.
Other Fold7 perks
Samsung’s offer page also displays two months of Adobe Lightroom, 50% off LumaFusion, 30% off ArcSite, a Noteshelf 3 offer and six months of SiriusXM. These are optional benefits, not confirmation of the $300 or storage promotion. The Lightroom offer states that eligible new subscribers currently renew at $11.99 per month plus applicable taxes after two months unless canceled; eligibility and renewal terms apply.
Buying recommendation
Buy from Samsung now only if your live cart independently shows both the $300 reduction and the 512GB price at the 256GB level, with terms you can meet. If either line is missing, do not describe the purchase as this deal. Compare the final pre-tax total with carrier financing, and wait for a new Samsung promotion if the direct price does not beat the value of keeping your current phone or accepting a carrier’s long-term credits.
