Without an eligible trade-in, the price was about $189. The promotion is expired, so treat the $115 figure as historical rather than a current offer.
The deal covered the silver and white Galaxy Buds3 Pro, whose cited regular price was $249. Samsung’s offer was attractive for Galaxy-phone owners, but the earbuds are now a previous-generation model: current testing coverage identifies the Galaxy Buds4 Pro as Samsung’s top earbuds in 2026.
How the advertised $135 saving worked
| Offer component | Amount | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Instant Samsung discount | $60 | No trade-in required |
| Maximum trade-in credit | Up to $75 | Eligible older earbuds required |
| Maximum combined saving | $135 | Required a qualifying trade-in |
| Lowest advertised price | About $115 | $249 regular price minus both discounts |
| Price without trade-in | About $189–$190 | Regular price minus the $60 instant discount |
The arithmetic was straightforward: $249 minus $60 minus up to $75 equals approximately $114–$115. The “up to” qualification matters. Samsung’s November 2024 promotion did not guarantee $75 for every old pair.
The original deal coverage listed Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds2 Pro and the original Galaxy Buds among examples that could receive the maximum credit. Galaxy Buds FE were cited at $50. Eligibility, condition, inspection and promotional terms could change the final valuation. See the original terms and figures in Droid Life’s November 22, 2024 deal report.

What you got with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro
The Buds3 Pro were positioned as Samsung’s premium in-ear earbuds, with active noise cancellation, strong sound, a comfortable fit and especially close integration with Galaxy phones. Later coverage highlighted Samsung Scalable Codec support on compatible Galaxy devices, 24-bit audio, spatial audio and up to 30 hours of total battery life including the charging case—not 30 hours of continuous earbud playback. Those higher-resolution and ecosystem features are not identical on every Android phone or platform. Android Central’s coverage describes the feature and pricing context.
Who should buy them?
Galaxy owners with a trade-in
If you use a Samsung Galaxy phone and can obtain a final price near $115–$150, the Buds3 Pro offer a compelling way to get premium ANC, Samsung controls and spatial-audio features without paying current-generation pricing.

Galaxy owners without a trade-in
At about $189, the purchase is more conditional. Buy if you specifically want Samsung’s fit and ecosystem features and the newer Buds4 Pro costs materially more. Compare the live prices first; a small gap makes the newer model the safer choice.
Who should skip or compare alternatives?
- iPhone owners: Samsung’s proprietary controls and ecosystem advantages are a poor match for iOS.
- Non-Samsung Android users: Pixel, Motorola and OnePlus phones can use the earbuds, but may not expose every Samsung codec, setting or spatial-audio function.
- Under-$100 shoppers: The Buds3 Pro were never the right budget category, even at a discount.
- Cross-platform buyers: Sony or Bose models may offer a more platform-neutral app and feature set.
- People needing maximum battery life: Check continuous-playback testing rather than relying on the 30-hour case-inclusive claim.
Android Central specifically pointed to the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 for buyers outside Samsung’s ecosystem. Current product pages are Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Sony’s WF-1000XM5.

How they compare with Samsung’s newer earbuds in 2026
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro are now Samsung’s newer premium model. RTINGS’ Samsung guide places them at the top of its current lineup, while the Buds3 Pro are a previous-generation option. RTINGS reports strong ANC, IP57 protection and roughly six hours of continuous playback in its testing; Tom’s Guide states seven hours for the earbuds and 30 hours with the case, and notes that some AI and ecosystem features require newer Galaxy phones. These are different test methods and stated specifications, so do not treat the figures as directly interchangeable.
That makes the Buds3 Pro a value play, not the default 2026 flagship. A substantial price gap can justify choosing them; a near-equal price generally favors the Buds4 Pro. Check Samsung’s current product pages for live stock and promotions: Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 Pro.

Check these details before buying a discounted pair
- Confirm the retailer, date, color and condition. Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart may show new, refurbished or open-box inventory at different prices.
- Enter the exact trade-in model and condition at checkout; do not assume ownership guarantees the maximum credit.
- Verify whether Samsung’s current promotion is still active. The $115 Black Friday 2024 offer is not a standing price.
- Compare the final delivered price with the Buds4 Pro and with platform-specific alternatives.
- Review compatibility if you use a non-Samsung phone; Samsung-only features may be limited.
For live checks, use Amazon, Best Buy or Walmart, and record the retailer and timestamp alongside any displayed price.
Bottom line
For a Samsung Galaxy owner, the Buds3 Pro were a strong Black Friday buy at about $115 with a qualifying trade-in, and still potentially worthwhile around $150. At roughly $189 without trade-in, buy only for the Samsung-specific experience and a clearly lower price than Buds4 Pro. Everyone else should compare Pixel, Sony, Bose or budget alternatives before treating this older promotion as a bargain.
