Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra Deal Was Up to $900 Off—With the Right Color and Trade-In

Bottom line: Samsung’s widely reported “$900 off” Galaxy S24 Ultra promotion was a real April 2024 offer, but it was not a universal price cut. The maximum combined savings came from up to $750 in eligible trade-in credit plus a separate $150 discount on selected Samsung.com-exclusive color and storage configurations. Those terms and prices should be treated as historical; no current August 2026 U.S. offer is verified here.

What the “$900 off” promotion actually meant

The April 5, 2024 deal report described two discounts that could be stacked:

Discount component Reported maximum
Eligible Samsung trade-in credit Up to $750
Selected Samsung.com-exclusive-color discount $150
Maximum combined savings Up to $900

The headline therefore meant up to $900 in total savings for a buyer with a qualifying device, the correct color, and the correct storage tier. It did not mean that every Galaxy S24 Ultra was automatically $900 below its regular price. The terms were reported by Droid Life on April 5, 2024.

That report gave an effective price of $399 for a qualifying configuration after the full $900 reduction. Treat that as a promotional, pre-tax example—not the phone’s normal retail price, an unconditional sale price, or a price available in 2026.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G, US Version, 256GB, Titanium Black - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.

Which colors and storage versions qualified?

Samsung identifies Titanium Blue, Titanium Green, and Titanium Orange as online-exclusive Galaxy S24 Ultra colors in its regional support information. Availability and the meaning of “exclusive” can vary by country; a color listed by Samsung in one market is not proof that the same SKU or promotion exists in the United States.

Color What the April 5 report said about the extra $150
Titanium Blue Eligible in 256GB and 512GB versions
Titanium Green Eligible in the 256GB version
Titanium Orange Exclusive color, but the report did not identify it as receiving the same extra $150 discount

Samsung’s color list is documented at Samsung’s S24 color support page. Do not assume that choosing any exclusive color, or any storage capacity, triggers the color discount. The exact SKU has to qualify.

The separate 1TB Titanium Green example

A follow-up published April 17, 2024 described a different configuration: a 1TB Titanium Green S24 Ultra priced at $759 after $900 in total savings. That was a separate deal example, not evidence that the April 5 storage rules applied to every 1TB phone. See the April 17 follow-up for that configuration.

How much could the trade-in contribute?

The April 5 report listed promotional maximums including up to $750 for a Galaxy S23 Ultra, up to $700 for a Galaxy Z Fold5, and up to $600 for a Galaxy S23+. These are examples from that 2024 promotion, not standing guarantees. Samsung’s live valuation depends on the exact model, storage, condition, carrier or unlocked status where applicable, and the terms in effect when you order.

Samsung’s structure was described as an instant credit: the estimated trade-in value reduced the purchase price, and you sent the old phone afterward for inspection. If the submitted phone does not match the model or condition declared during checkout, Samsung can reduce the credit or charge the difference under its trade-in rules.

Protect yourself during a trade-in

  • Photograph the phone’s front, back, frame, display, and powered-on condition before packing it.
  • Back up your data, sign out of accounts, remove activation locks, and factory-reset the device.
  • Use the supplied shipping label and keep the receipt, tracking number, and delivery confirmation.
  • Save screenshots or a PDF of the quoted credit and the device description you submitted.

Compare the quoted Samsung credit with what you could net from a private sale. A private sale may produce more or less depending on demand, condition, timing, fraud exposure, shipping, and how quickly you need the replacement phone; it is not automatically the better financial choice.

Who could really receive the full $900?

The maximum stack favored a narrow group:

  • You owned a high-value eligible Samsung device, such as the S23 Ultra example in the April report.
  • You wanted an unlocked phone bought directly from Samsung rather than a carrier installment promotion.
  • You selected a qualifying exclusive color and storage combination—most clearly Titanium Blue in 256GB or 512GB, or Titanium Green in 256GB under the reported rules.
  • You accepted Samsung’s inspection and trade-in process and met its condition requirements.

For those buyers, an immediate reduction at Samsung checkout could be more flexible than a carrier offer that distributes its headline discount as monthly bill credits.

When the headline was less valuable

  • No qualifying trade-in: Without a valuable eligible device, the $750 portion disappears.
  • Damaged, locked, or unsupported phone: The displayed estimate may be low, revised, or unavailable after inspection.
  • Titanium Orange preference: Its exclusive status did not establish eligibility for the extra $150 in the April report.
  • Non-qualifying storage: A different capacity can remove the color discount even when the color looks right.
  • Better alternative: A carrier, refurbished S24 Ultra, newer Galaxy Ultra generation, or private-sale-plus-purchase strategy may produce a lower net cost, depending on current prices and terms.

Carrier “$900 off” advertisements also deserve a careful comparison. They commonly rely on bill credits over a required installment period and qualifying plan. Samsung’s reported promotion reduced the purchase price immediately, so equal headline savings do not create equal flexibility or cash-flow results.

What to check when a discount does not appear

  1. Select the exact Samsung.com SKU, including color and storage, rather than relying on a general S24 Ultra product page.
  2. Re-enter the trade-in model accurately and review the displayed condition questions.
  3. Confirm that you are signed into any Samsung account or program required by the checkout.
  4. Check whether the offer has expired, inventory for the qualifying SKU is gone, or the promotion is limited to another country.
  5. Review the final order summary for the instant trade-in credit, color discount, taxes, shipping, accessories, and any financing charges.

Do not ship your old phone until the new order and its trade-in terms are clear. Keep in mind that the effective prices reported in 2024 may exclude sales tax, Samsung Care+, cases, screen protectors, chargers, and any temporary replacement device you need while the trade-in is in transit.

Is the Galaxy S24 Ultra still a sensible purchase?

The S24 Ultra was Samsung’s top S24 model launched in 2024. It combines a titanium frame, a 6.8-inch display, the S Pen, flagship cameras, and Galaxy AI functions such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, Interpreter, and generative editing tools. Samsung’s launch context is available from Samsung Newsroom.

Those features can justify buying one when the net price is genuinely low and you want a large, pen-enabled Samsung phone. The size and weight are poor fits for shoppers who prefer compact devices. Before buying remaining inventory in 2026, compare the total cost and remaining support period with a current Galaxy Ultra model, a reputable refurbished S24 Ultra, or a lower-priced Galaxy model. Current model pricing, inventory, and support terms require a live check.

How to verify any live Samsung offer

Because the documented promotion dates to April 2024, use Samsung’s current U.S. pages rather than an old headline:

Only the final checkout page can establish whether a discount is active, which country it covers, whether the price is before tax, and what happens if Samsung reassesses the trade-in.

Verdict

“$900 off” was an accurate description of the maximum combined savings reported in April 2024, not a blanket markdown on every Galaxy S24 Ultra. The strongest case was a buyer with a high-value eligible Samsung trade-in who chose the precise Titanium Blue or Titanium Green configuration covered by the color promotion. Everyone else needed to calculate the actual trade-in value and final checkout total—and should not assume the $399 or $759 examples remain available in August 2026.
