A February 18, 2025 PCWorld report documented an Amazon price of $700 for the 14-inch Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro with an Intel Core Ultra 5 155H processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD. PCWorld called that a 48% reduction from an approximately $1,350 list price and a new low at the time. That report does not verify a live offer now, so check the retailer’s current price, seller, condition and warranty before treating the laptop as a bargain.

A retailer page showing a similar price can still represent a different processor, a 16-inch model, a Galaxy Book4 (not Pro), a Pro 360, or a renewed and third-party unit. The “48% off” figure should therefore be treated as historical unless a current listing reproduces the same configuration and price.
Which Galaxy Book4 Pro is it?
Samsung used the Galaxy Book4 Pro name for several products. The standard Pro came in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes with Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 options. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is a separate convertible family with a 360-degree hinge and S Pen support. Samsung’s launch specifications cover the family’s 16:10 touch AMOLED displays, Intel Core Ultra processors, integrated Intel Arc graphics, Wi-Fi 6E, LPDDR5X memory and Windows 11 Home.

OLED display and portable design
The reported 14-inch configuration has a 2,880×1,800 touch AMOLED panel with up to a 120Hz variable refresh rate. Samsung lists 400 nits typical brightness and 120% DCI-P3 color volume for the standard Pro display family. The 14-inch model is listed at approximately 1.23kg, although weight can vary by market and measurement method.

Everyday performance
The Core Ultra 5 155H and 16GB of RAM are well suited to office applications, browsing, coding, video calls, media playback and moderate photo or video work. Integrated Intel Arc graphics are not a replacement for a discrete Nvidia or AMD GPU in demanding games, 3D workloads or heavily GPU-accelerated production.
Ports and battery
Samsung lists two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, microSD and a headphone/microphone jack. The 14-inch model has a listed 63Wh typical battery. PCWorld reported approximately 13 hours of active use in its testing; brightness, refresh rate, OLED content, conferencing and power settings can change results substantially.
Important compromises
- The 14-inch chassis has lower sustained processor-power limits than larger laptops.
- Its 16GB LPDDR5X memory is soldered and should be considered non-upgradable.
- A 512GB SSD can fill quickly with games, video projects or large photo libraries.
- The platform uses Wi-Fi 6E rather than Wi-Fi 7.
- OLED panels may use more power in bright, white-heavy applications.
- The 14-inch screen offers less workspace than the 16-inch version for large spreadsheets.
- The standard Pro is not a convertible and does not include the Pro 360’s in-box S Pen.
PCWorld’s review praised the OLED display, light construction, keyboard and FHD camera, but its tested system used a Core Ultra 7 155H. Chassis and design observations apply broadly; its performance results should not be read as exact results for the Core Ultra 5 deal configuration.

Is $700 a good buy?
Historically, yes—provided the laptop is new, matches the Core Ultra 5/16GB/512GB specification and includes usable warranty and return coverage. At that price, the OLED touchscreen and lightweight premium chassis were unusually inexpensive relative to the reported reference price.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Current price or listing condition | How to view it |
|---|---|
| About $700, new and fully warrantied | Strong value for productivity and portability |
| $800–$1,000 | Compare with newer Galaxy Book, Surface, Lenovo and MacBook options |
| Above $1,000 | The older Book4 Pro’s value weakens unless storage, warranty or configuration is unusually favorable |
| Unknown seller, renewed or imported unit | Do not call it a 48% bargain until condition and support are verified |
Who should buy it?
- Students, office workers and programmers: the 14-inch size, 16GB RAM, keyboard and ports fit mobile productivity.
- Frequent travelers: the approximately 1.23kg chassis and premium display prioritize portability.
- Light creators: the OLED panel and Core Ultra platform suit moderate editing, but not sustained workstation workloads.
Who should skip it?
- Gamers and 3D professionals needing a discrete GPU.
- Buyers who need 1TB or more internally or require upgradeable RAM.
- People performing frequent long renders or exports where the 14-inch power limits matter.
- Anyone seeking a tablet-style hinge and pen; choose the Pro 360 instead.
- Buyers prioritizing maximum battery efficiency who are considering newer ARM-based Windows laptops.
Alternatives worth checking
Galaxy Book5 Pro
This newer Samsung generation may provide newer Intel silicon and platform features. It is usually more expensive, so compare its live price rather than assuming it is a better value.
Galaxy Book4 Pro 360
The 16-inch Pro 360 adds a convertible hinge and S Pen. Samsung lists a 76Wh battery, but the design is generally heavier and more expensive than the standard Pro.

MacBook Air, Surface Laptop and Lenovo Yoga or Slim
MacBook Air suits macOS users and efficiency-focused buyers but cannot run Windows-only software natively in the same way. Surface Laptop offers a polished Windows alternative, while Lenovo Yoga and Slim lines provide broader processor, display, storage and convertible choices that vary by exact SKU. Current prices for these alternatives require a separate live check.
Checklist before you click Buy
- Confirm the exact CPU is Core Ultra 5 155H and the model is the 14-inch standard Pro.
- Verify the display is a 2,880×1,800 AMOLED touchscreen, not a lower-spec Galaxy Book4 panel.
- Check for 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD.
- Read whether the unit is new, open-box, renewed or used.
- Inspect “sold by” and “shipped by” details and research an unfamiliar marketplace seller.
- Confirm the keyboard layout, included USB-C power adapter and U.S. manufacturer-warranty eligibility.
- Review the return deadline before opening or activating the laptop.
- Recalculate the final total after tax, shipping, membership requirements and coupons.
- Check stock and delivery dates; a page may display a third-party offer after the primary listing disappears.
Bottom-line decision
The Galaxy Book4 Pro’s reported $700 price was a genuine, attractive deal in February 2025—not proof of a live 48% sale now. Buy only when a current listing matches the 14-inch Core Ultra 5, 16GB, 512GB configuration and offers acceptable condition, seller protection, warranty and returns. If those checks fail or the price rises well above $700, compare newer laptops instead of relying on the old discount headline.
