Samsung listed the A26 at $299.99 and the A36 at $399.99, a $100 difference. Those are launch/list prices, not a check of current offers or stock.
How much did the Galaxy A26 and A36 cost?
Samsung’s US launch announcement put the Galaxy A26 5G at $299.99 and the Galaxy A36 5G at $399.99. Samsung’s September 2025 US MSRP sheet lists those same prices for unlocked 128GB models and notes that prices can change. Treat them as reference prices, not guaranteed current prices.

What do the two phones have in common?
Samsung gives both models a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and IP67 dust and water resistance. The screen’s usable viewing area is slightly smaller than the diagonal measurement because of its rounded corners. Both models also have 5,000mAh batteries, according to Samsung’s US launch announcement.

IP67 is a rated level of protection, not a promise that a phone is waterproof or immune to damage in every situation. Samsung’s product and support information should be checked for the applicable model and market before relying on a feature or rating.
Where does the A36 differ?
Platform and charging
Samsung identifies the A36’s processor as the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and specifies 45W charging for that model. The launch announcement does not make the same named-chipset or 45W claim for the A26, so those A36 specifications should not be assumed to apply to its less expensive sibling. Actual charging performance can depend on the charger and conditions; the cited launch material establishes Samsung’s stated capability, not a comparative charging test.
Camera configuration
Samsung UK’s comparison lists 50MP main cameras on both phones. It gives the A36 an 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro camera, while the A26 has an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera. These are Samsung UK comparison specifications; configurations and availability may differ by market. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.

What does One UI 7 and “Awesome Intelligence” mean here?
Samsung promoted One UI 7 and a selection of Galaxy AI features for the A series, including Circle to Search, Object Eraser and Filters. Their availability or behavior can depend on the device, country, carrier, software version, account or service availability. Samsung’s list should not be read as a guarantee that every function is available in every configuration.

How long does Samsung say it will support the A26?
Samsung’s US A26 product page says the phone is eligible for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from the global launch date. Samsung Mobile Press describes the lineup as receiving up to six OS generations and six years of security updates. The wording “up to” matters: it is a stated support commitment, not evidence that every device receives every update on the same date.

When did the phones become available?
Samsung said worldwide availability began March 28, 2025, and its US announcement said A26 availability began that day. The global announcement cautions that availability can vary by country, region and carrier. A launch date does not establish current inventory, carrier support or the price available to a particular buyer.

Which one makes more sense for your budget?
- Consider the A26 if the lower US reference price is the priority and its stated shared essentials—6.7-inch display, IP67 rating and 5,000mAh battery—fit your needs.
- Consider the A36 if Samsung’s stated Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform and 45W charging are worth the additional $100 at the listed US prices, or if its higher-resolution macro camera specification in Samsung UK’s comparison matters to you.
Neither price comparison establishes which phone is the better value at today’s checkout: actual offers change, and Samsung’s list prices can change too. Confirm the exact model, storage, carrier compatibility and current price with the seller for your market.
