SafeBase had announced an $18 million Series A in March 2022, led by NEA. Its Series B announcement said the new investment brought total funding to more than $50 million. The reviewed announcements do not establish a valuation for the Series B, so the amount raised should not be read as a valuation.
What did SafeBase sell?
SafeBase offered enterprise trust-center software: a place for a company to share information about its security posture and control access to sensitive documents. The aim was to make it easier for prospective customers to review a vendor’s security practices during a software purchase, and to reduce the burden of answering security questionnaires. Contemporary reporting said the product used AI to assist with questionnaire work. SafeBase’s Series A announcement described the trust-center and document-access functions.
#1 Best Overall
Touring Capital presented the product as a way to make security reviews smoother and make security a contributor to customer trust and sales. That is the lead investor’s view of the opportunity, not evidence that the software produced a particular sales outcome.
What did the 2024 announcement say about the business?
Y Combinator’s account of the 2024 Series B announcement reported that SafeBase had more than 700 customers and 98% gross retention at that time. These are point-in-time figures attributed to Y Combinator; they are not current metrics, and the retention figure was not identified as independently audited.
Touring Capital characterized the security-review process as averaging 3–5 weeks, with dependencies across sales, legal and security teams. This was the investor’s estimate, not an independently established universal benchmark for all companies or reviews. Touring Capital’s investment article sets out that perspective.

What the funding news does—and does not—tell you
The financing announcement shows that SafeBase secured a sizable institutional and strategic investment to support its enterprise trust-center business. It does not by itself establish the company’s valuation, prove that security reviews became faster, or show that the 2024 customer and retention metrics remain unchanged.

The available announcement sources also do not establish SafeBase’s standalone operating status or product availability as of October 4, 2026. The funding details are historical: the announced Series B was dated April 30, 2024.
