Rupert Grint’s net worth is estimated at about $50 million in 2026, according to a figure Parade attributes to Celebrity Net Worth. It is a secondary estimate, not a verified account of his assets and debts. The often-cited £24 million associated with his Harry Potter role is a separate estimate of career earnings, not his current net worth.
Rupert Grint’s estimated net worth
Parade reported an estimate of approximately $50 million in July 2026, attributing it to Celebrity Net Worth. The article does not establish the estimate’s methodology or underlying assets and liabilities. No official current balance sheet or other direct measurement of Grint’s net worth is provided by the sources available.
Net worth means assets minus liabilities at a given point in time. A published estimate is not the same as a disclosure by Grint, and the $50 million figure should be read as an estimate rather than a confirmed personal-finance figure. Parade’s 2026 report is the source for that estimate.
Net worth, Harry Potter earnings, and the tax case are different figures
Several sums associated with Grint describe different things. They cannot be added together or substituted for one another to calculate his present wealth.

| About $50 million | Estimated net worth | Parade attributed this estimate to Celebrity Net Worth in July 2026; it is not a verified balance sheet. |
| About £24 million | Estimated earnings from the Harry Potter role | Reported by the Associated Press and The Guardian in 2024. This is a career-earnings estimate, not current net worth. |
| £4.5 million | Receipt at the center of the tax dispute | The Guardian reported that it related to the 2011–12 tax year and was disputed over its tax treatment. |
| £1.8 million | Tax bill after the tribunal appeal failed | The Associated Press reported this amount in November 2024. It is a historical tax liability, not a measure of current wealth. |
The Associated Press and The Guardian both reported the estimated £24 million in Potter earnings. The Associated Press account and The Guardian’s report describe the earnings estimate and tax case; neither figure gives a current accounting of what Grint owns or owes.
What happened in Rupert Grint’s tax case
In November 2024, Grint lost an appeal before the UK First-tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber) over the treatment of a £4.5 million receipt relating to the 2011–12 tax year. News reports described the sum as Potter residuals or bonuses. The tribunal considered whether the Sales of Occupation Income provisions applied to a capital sum received when assets and services were sold to a company.

According to the Associated Press, the tribunal concluded that the sum “derived substantially the whole of its value from the activities of Mr. Grint” and “is taxable as income.” The AP reported a resulting tax bill of £1.8 million. The ruling addresses the tax treatment of a historical receipt; it does not disclose Grint’s present assets, debts, or net worth. The decision is Grint v Commissioners for His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs [2024] UKFTT 956 (TC).

Grint has not provided a current public accounting of his finances in the cited material. In a 2011 interview with The Guardian, he said, “My dad handles all that,” and, “I don’t even know how much it is,” when discussing his money. That interview also relayed a £28 million rich-list estimate of total earnings and described property holdings at the time. Those are historical reports, not current valuations. The Guardian’s 2011 interview offers context on what was reported then, but it cannot establish his wealth today.

Without a current, comprehensive disclosure of assets and liabilities, no public estimate can be treated as a precise statement of Grint’s net worth. The available figures are useful only when kept in their proper categories: an attributed estimate in US dollars, reported past earnings in pounds, and amounts from a historical tax dispute.
