RRC NR Apprentice Result 2024: How to Check the 4,096-Post Merit List

The 4,096-post recruitment refers to Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway’s 2024 Act Apprentice cycle, notification RRC/NR/06/2024/Act Apprentice. Check the official RRC Northern Railway website at rrcnr.org, and confirm that any result or status link names this exact notification before using it. The notice said merit was expected in November 2024, but that expected date alone does not confirm that a result was published or establish any candidate’s selection.

Which RRC NR Apprentice result is this?

The 4,096 vacancies belong to the RRC/NR Act Apprentice recruitment notice dated 13 August 2024. Applications were accepted from 16 August to 16 September 2024. The notice described November 2024 as the expected month for displaying merit; it was an anticipated timeline, not proof of an individual result.

RRC Northern Railway’s official website is the source to use for notices and candidate updates. Its archive includes multiple recruitment years, so match the notification number and year rather than relying only on a page title such as “Apprentice result.” The official results and downloads index includes an Act Apprentice category, but its listing alone does not establish that a candidate-specific 2024 lookup is currently available.

How to check the 2024 result or candidate update

  1. Open the official Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway website.
  2. Find the notice or update for Act Apprentice recruitment and check that it refers to RRC/NR/06/2024/Act Apprentice.
  3. Open the result, merit-list or candidate-update link associated with that 2024 notice, if available. Read the page’s instructions before entering any details.
  4. Use the official document or status page to check your result. If the notice number or year differs, do not treat that page as the 4,096-post recruitment result.

Do not send your date of birth, application details or other candidate credentials to unofficial agents or post them in comments. A result or status page should be accessed through the official RRC site.

Do not confuse the 2024 recruitment with the 2025–26 cycle

The later recruitment, notification RRC/NR-05/2025/Act Apprentice, advertised 4,116 slots. The official status interface identified for that cycle is not evidence of a 2024 result lookup. Check these identifiers before proceeding:

Recruitment Notification Advertised slots What to use it for
2024–25 Act Apprentice RRC/NR/06/2024/Act Apprentice 4,096 Updates and merit information tied to the 2024 notice
2025–26 Act Apprentice RRC/NR-05/2025/Act Apprentice 4,116 Status and updates tied to the later recruitment

Because the RRC site carries multiple notices and the candidate interfaces can change, a page for the later notification should not be used as though it serves 2024 applicants.

How the merit list is prepared

The apprentice recruitment notice describes merit lists by cluster, trade and community. Ranking is based on Class 10 and ITI marks, and the size of a list is linked to the notified slots. The process described in the notice is not a single overall cutoff that can be safely applied to every trade or community.

No definitive overall cutoff or final selected-candidate count is established here. Use the relevant official merit list or candidate status record for an outcome; a vacancy total or expected display month cannot tell you whether a particular applicant was selected.

What selection as an apprentice means

Apprenticeship is training, not a promise of permanent Railway employment. In notification RRC/NR/06/2024/Act Apprentice, dated 13 August 2024, Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway states: “Imparting Training in Railway will not confer any right to the candidates for their absorption in Railway after successful completion of training.” The notice also says the employer is not obliged to offer a job after training and the apprentice is not obliged to accept one.
