Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) increased the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) vacancies under Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) 01/2024 from 5,696 to 18,799. The revised total appears in Corrigendum No. 1, dated 4 July 2024; the notice’s Annexure-B1 provides the revised distribution by RRB, post and category. The increase applied to ALP posts in this recruitment, not to all railway vacancies. Official RRB vacancy enhancement and corrigendum
What changed in RRB ALP recruitment 2024?
The revised total was 18,799 ALP vacancies, up from the 5,696 vacancies originally notified under CEN 01/2024. The corrigendum refers to an earlier enhancement notice dated 19 June 2024. It is a historical 2024 recruitment update, not evidence that applications or another candidate action are open now. The official RRB document records the change.
Where can you check the revised vacancy breakdown?
Consult Annexure-B1 of Corrigendum No. 1 for the revised vacancies by participating RRB, post and category. The headline total does not mean that every RRB or category received the same increase; use the official table to check the figures relevant to you. Open the official corrigendum and vacancy table.
Could candidates change their RRB or zonal railway preferences?
The 4 July 2024 corrigendum said candidates could modify their chosen RRB and zonal railway preferences through a link intended to remain available for ten days. That was a limited 2024 window, not a current opportunity to change preferences. The notice also said: “All other terms and conditions of the CEN 01/2024 (ALP) will remain unchanged.” Read Corrigendum No. 1.
