The property is the Mercer Park Workplace building on Mercer Island, between Seattle and Bellevue. Riot announced the purchase on December 9, 2021, and described the office as 156,000 square feet. Riot’s announcement said it would become the home of more than 400 Rioters across engineering, research and development, live services, and other roles.
How much the office cost
Riot paid a reported $114.1 million for the building. GeekWire’s 2021 report gave that purchase price, and Lee & Associates independently recorded the $114.1 million Mercer Island transaction in its Q4 2021 Pacific Northwest market report, published in 2022.

The purchase price, property size, location, and intended staffing are historical deal facts supported by contemporaneous reporting and Riot’s announcement. The cited material does not establish whether Riot opened and continues to operate the office as planned, or its current staffing. The announced 400-plus figure should therefore be read as a hiring and occupancy plan from 2021, not a present-day employee count.
