RIMC January 2025 Admission: What the 2024 Registration Notice Said—and What Has Changed

The 2024 RIMC registration report concerned the January 2025 term. Its deadline has passed; RIMC’s prospectus specifies a different, online process for the December 2026 examination cycle.

The “RIMC January 2024 registration” headline refers to applications for the January 2025 term, not an application window that is open now. That cycle’s deadline was April 15, 2024, and its written exam was scheduled for June 1, 2024. For the December 2026 examination cycle for admission to the July 2027 term, RIMC’s prospectus instead specifies online applications through the NTA portal and revised age eligibility.

What “January 2024 registration” meant

A Scroll report published February 29, 2024, concerned admission to the January 2025 term. The application deadline and exam date below are historical, not upcoming dates. The Government of Goa’s February 25, 2024 notice also listed April 15, 2024 as the application deadline and June 1, 2024 as the entrance examination date. Scroll’s 2024 report and the Government of Goa notice describe that cycle.

Eligibility for the January 2025 term

For that historical cycle, candidates had to be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII, and be between 11½ and 13 years old as of January 1, 2025. The Goa notice stated the corresponding date-of-birth range as January 2, 2012 through July 1, 2013. These criteria applied to the January 2025 term; they should not be used to determine eligibility for a later cycle.

How the 2024 application process worked

The 2024 report described a paper application submitted in duplicate with the required certificates. Submission instructions depended on the applicant’s state. The report’s directions to send forms to the Assistant Secretary (Exams), Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), in Vijayawada applied to the Andhra Pradesh process it covered—not to all applicants across India. Applicants were directed to follow their own state’s notice.

The report listed a fee of ₹600 for general candidates and ₹555 for SC/ST candidates. Those are reported amounts for the 2024 application cycle, not confirmed fees for current or future applications. For Andhra Pradesh, the notice wording reproduced by Scroll said to send completed forms to APPSC, not RIMC Dehradun.

How the process differs for the December 2026 examination cycle

RIMC’s current prospectus says applications for the December 2026 examination cycle, for admission to the July 2027 term, are entirely online through the NTA portal. No hard-copy application is required, and application forms will not be available through RIMC or state government authorities. The prospectus gives an age range of 12½ to 14 for this cycle, replacing the age criteria reported for the January 2025 term. Check the RIMC prospectus and official RIMC updates for the applicable term and current instructions.

Documents to prepare as scanned copies

  • Aadhaar card
  • Recent passport-size colour photograph on a white background
  • Domicile certificate
  • Birth certificate
  • Category certificate, when applicable
  • School studying certificate

RIMC directs candidates to follow RIMC and NTA updates for timelines, exam schedules, admit cards and examination-centre details. The official RIMC site also shows results for the January 2027 term and identifies the June 2026 examination cycle, underscoring that dates and requirements must be matched to the relevant term.

Previous question papers are separate from registration

RIMC’s prospectus says candidates may purchase its Previous 7 Years Question Papers booklet (PYQP) for ₹300. It is a separate preparation resource, not an application form or application fee. The prospectus describes payment using the QR code in the official RIMC notice, followed by sharing the receipt and postal address with RIMC by WhatsApp or email. Check the current RIMC notice for payment and dispatch instructions before paying.

What applicants should verify before applying

  • Confirm the admission term and examination cycle named in the latest official notice.

  • Follow the application channel and recipient stated for the current cycle; the 2024 paper-submission directions are not current instructions.
  • Check official RIMC and NTA updates for deadlines, fees, exam scheduling, admit cards and examination-centre details.
