Risk-intelligence startup RIIG announced on November 19, 2024, that it had closed a $3 million seed financing round led by Felton Group. RIIG said it planned to use the funding to develop and launch AI-powered solutions and expand client support, sales, and marketing. The announcement describes the company’s plans at that time; it does not establish what was later delivered.

Who led RIIG’s $3 million seed round?

RIIG named Felton Group as the lead investor in its November 19, 2024 announcement. The company described Felton Group as the family office of hedge fund manager Jaffray Woodriff. SecurityWeek reported the same amount and lead investor in its coverage the following day.

The announced round was $3 million. Neither the company announcement nor the contemporaneous coverage cited here establishes a valuation, audited funding documentation, revenue, or customer count.

What did RIIG say it would do with the funding?

RIIG said it would put the proceeds toward development and launch of AI-powered solutions, as well as client support, sales, and marketing. These were stated intentions in the 2024 announcement, not confirmation that the company subsequently completed those plans.

CEO Denver Riggleman described the round as support for products then planned for 2025: “RIIG applauds the support of Felton Group and their appreciation of the vision laid out for advanced AI, cyber threat identification and analysis products set for delivery in 2025.”

What did RIIG do at the time of the announcement?

In 2024, RIIG presented itself as a provider of white-hat data trust and open-source intelligence for Zero Trust environments. Its stated scope included open-source intelligence, regulatory work, forensics, vulnerability assessments, implementation, and technology validation.

Software and platform offerings

SecurityWeek’s November 20, 2024 coverage named ACTIVE, Aegis AI, FinaSense, and LegiSense among RIIG’s offerings. These are descriptions reported by the outlet, not independent assessments of product capabilities or security performance. RIIG’s current product website describes ACTIVE as an analytical ecosystem and presents organizational solutions; that company-authored material should not be read as independent product evaluation.

Professional services

RIIG’s announcement also framed its work as including cybersecurity and risk-intelligence services, such as assessments, implementation, forensics, and validation. Those services are distinct from named software products: the announcement does not provide independently verified outcome measures for either category.

How did RIIG’s focus change after the seed announcement?

In May 2025, RIIG announced funding from UAE investors and described a shift toward HOOTL, health technology, and insurance automation. That later announcement does not state the amount of the funding. It is a separate development from the $3 million seed round announced in November 2024, and it means RIIG’s 2024 cybersecurity positioning should not automatically be treated as a description of its current focus.

What the funding announcement does—and does not—show

The public statements establish the amount and named lead investor as company-announced terms, with SecurityWeek independently reporting those same headline details. The cited announcements do not establish a valuation, revenue, customer traction, audited closing records, or measured security outcomes. They also do not verify whether the stated spending plans or 2025 product delivery targets were completed.
