Resquared announced a $5 million seed round in July 2024 to develop sales software for companies that sell to local businesses. Its pitch is that general-purpose CRM and prospecting tools can leave gaps in local-business data and outreach; that is the company’s thesis, not an independently verified finding about every tool or prospect.

What Resquared raised—and who participated

Resquared announced the seed round on July 24, 2024, saying it was led by SNR. The company named 1984 Ventures, Merus Capital, Oleg Rogynskyy, Don Tepman and Twenty Two Ventures as participants in its announcement (Resquared’s announcement). VentureBeat reported the round a day earlier, on July 23, and identified Kevin Patrick Mahaffey of SNR in connection with it (VentureBeat’s report).

SNR’s Mahaffey framed the opportunity as a gap between increasingly sophisticated online sales and the less digitized work of selling to brick-and-mortar businesses. He said Resquared could give sales teams “superpowers” in engaging local businesses. That is an investor’s rationale for the company, rather than evidence that Resquared has displaced established CRMs.

What the platform does

Resquared describes its software as a business-to-business sales platform for teams targeting local businesses. Its offering combines a local-business database with outreach, automation, sales workflows and analytics. VentureBeat reported that CEO and co-founder Griffin Morris said Resquared draws on public records, social media and information businesses publish on their websites, then cleans, organizes and matches the data.

The distinction from a CRM is important: a CRM generally helps a team organize relationships and sales activity, while Resquared’s stated focus is supplying and working local-business prospects. The available reporting does not establish how its coverage or data freshness compares head to head with any particular CRM or prospecting provider.

The company’s local-sales thesis

Resquared argues that local businesses can be harder to find and contact through conventional B2B prospecting approaches, and that some owners may be more reachable through channels such as Facebook or Instagram than LinkedIn. Morris told VentureBeat: “They’re typically not on LinkedIn, but if you reach out to a business through their Facebook or Instagram page, you can get a 20% reply rate and it’s often from the owner of the business.” This is his account of the company’s experience, not an independently validated response benchmark.

The company also says it uses AI and machine learning to study interactions and data: “We have always had AI and machine learning features, studying interactions and data to figure out what works best,” Morris said. The statement describes Resquared’s approach; it does not specify a particular model, feature set or measured advantage over competitors.

Who Resquared says it serves

VentureBeat cited customers and use cases in retail property leasing, SEO services, commercial services such as pest control and maintenance, commercial insurance, small-business lending and supplying businesses. Morris said Resquared serves clients ranging from large publicly traded companies to regional businesses. These are reported categories and examples, not a complete customer roster or independently reviewed case studies.

The potential market figures also come with attribution. VentureBeat reported Resquared’s claim that more than 11 million small and midsize businesses operate in the United States and Canada, and that research obtained by the company counted more than 400,000 U.S. sales representatives targeting local businesses. Resquared’s announcement also stated that fewer than 10% of local-business owners use LinkedIn, without providing the underlying methodology. Y Combinator’s company profile says local businesses account for over 60% of U.S. firms, but does not specify the statistic’s original publication year (Y Combinator’s Resquared profile). These figures help explain the market Resquared is pursuing; they do not by themselves demonstrate product-market fit.

How to read the reported results

VentureBeat reported that Resquared said it had thousands of sales representatives and hundreds of sales-organization clients in 2024. The company also said some clients reported monthly sales increases of up to 30%. “Up to” describes a maximum reported outcome, not a typical result, and the report does not establish an independent measurement or causal link to the software.

Y Combinator’s profile reproduces company claims that Resquared has been proven to save sales professionals more than three hours per day and produce 53% stronger leads. The profile points to a case study, but does not state the methodology behind those figures. They should be treated as company performance claims, not guaranteed savings or outcomes for a prospective customer.

What the 2024 pricing report says

VentureBeat reported in July 2024 that pricing varied by seat count. Morris said a five-representative team would start at around $1,000 per month, and the report said clients received one-on-one onboarding and training. That is a dated example, not a current quote or confirmation of current packaging. Teams evaluating the platform should request current pricing and clarify what data access, seats, onboarding and services are included.

What a sales team should compare

The available reporting does not provide independent tests against leading CRMs or current competitor prices, so it does not support naming a winner. A practical evaluation should focus on whether Resquared’s local-business specialization fits the team’s actual sales motion:

  • Coverage and freshness: Test the database against businesses in the team’s target geography and verify how records are updated.
  • Outreach channels: Confirm which channels are currently supported, how outreach is managed, and whether the tools fit the team’s contact practices.
  • Workflows and analytics: Map the platform’s automation and reporting to the sales process the team needs to run.
  • Geographic fit: Check coverage in the regions where representatives prospect; a broad market claim does not establish local completeness.
  • Implementation: Ask what onboarding and training are available now and whether they carry additional cost.
  • Total cost: Compare current quotes across the actual number of users, expected usage and required services—not the 2024 example alone.

What is established—and what is not

The July 2024 reporting establishes that Resquared announced a $5 million seed round and described a software platform combining local-business data with outreach and sales workflows. Its differentiation rests on the company’s belief that sales teams targeting local businesses need specialized prospect data and engagement methods. The cited market scale, usage, response and performance figures are company claims or company-sourced research, with varying levels of methodological detail.

The funding and product information above is from July 2024, while the Y Combinator profile was accessed in 2026. These sources do not establish Resquared’s present-day pricing, customer count, product capabilities or performance. For a current purchasing decision, obtain an up-to-date vendor quote and validate the platform against the team’s own prospects and workflow.
