These were historical Memorial Day 2025 prices, not a live sale. BGR’s May 20, 2025 roundup said Reolink’s promotion ended May 25, 2025. It listed the E1 indoor camera at $29.98, a Home Hub bundle with two Argus PT Ultra cameras and two solar panels at $297.99, and the CX810 ColorX PoE camera at $87.99. Treat those figures as past deal prices and verify any current Reolink or retailer price at checkout.
Quick verdict
- Lowest advertised price: Reolink E1 at $29.98, aimed at single-room indoor monitoring.
- Best multi-camera concept: Home Hub bundle with two Argus PT Ultra cameras and two solar panels for $297.99.
- Best for an existing wired system: CX810 ColorX PoE at $87.99, provided you have compatible Ethernet and PoE equipment.
- Important date warning: The promotion ran through May 25, 2025. The prices below should not be treated as available in 2026 without a current checkout confirmation.
The original roundup appeared on BGR and identified Amazon’s Reolink store as the sales channel. It also disclosed sponsored and affiliate content, so words such as “unbeatable” were promotional language rather than an independent market-wide test.
What the three 2025 deals included
| Product | Original advertised price | Memorial Day price | Advertised saving | Power and setup | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reolink E1 | About $38 (the article described it as just under $40) | $29.98 | About 21% | Indoor plug-in Wi-Fi | One room, pets, children or a hallway |
| Home Hub + two Argus PT Ultra cameras + two solar panels | $369.99 | $297.99 | $72, about 19% | Outdoor battery/solar Wi-Fi with hub | Two-camera outdoor coverage |
| Reolink CX810 ColorX PoE | $109.99 | $87.99 | $22, 20% | Wired Power over Ethernet | Existing PoE installations |
The E1’s regular price was not presented as a formally verified manufacturer MSRP, so the roughly 21% figure is an approximation based on the article’s “just under $40” description. All three sale prices were tied to the May 2025 promotion.
Reolink E1: inexpensive indoor pan-and-tilt monitoring
The E1 deal covered a 2K indoor, plug-in Wi-Fi camera. Its listed features included pan-and-tilt movement, motion tracking, alerts, schedules, night vision and recording to a microSD card or a compatible Reolink Home Hub.
What it does well
- Pan-and-tilt can look across more of a room than a fixed camera.
- Motion tracking can help keep a moving person or pet in view.
- Local recording can avoid a mandatory cloud subscription when supported storage is installed.
What to check before buying
- It is an indoor, mains-powered camera, not a weatherproof outdoor model.
- You need a nearby outlet; “wireless” describes the network connection, not the power source.
- A separately purchased microSD card may be required for local recording.
- Furniture, walls and placement can still create blind spots, and motion tracking can lose a subject or follow another moving object.
- Confirm the exact E1 submodel and generation. Reolink uses similar E1 names with different resolutions and features.
The original $29.98 figure is a historical deal reference. The current E1 price was not verified in the available official-store results. Reolink’s indoor-camera store is here.

Argus PT Ultra bundle: two outdoor cameras, solar panels and a hub
The outdoor kit contained two Argus PT Ultra cameras, two solar panels and one Reolink Home Hub. BGR highlighted 4K video, color night vision, dual-band Wi-Fi, pan-and-tilt, motion tracking, patrol functions and centralized recording.
Current specification context
Reolink’s current U.S. listing describes the Argus PT Ultra as an 8MP/4K camera with 355-degree pan, 140-degree tilt, color night vision, dual-band Wi-Fi, person, vehicle and animal detection, weather resistance and Home Hub compatibility. That exact 355-degree figure is more precise than the original article’s rounded “360-degree” wording. See the Argus series listing and Reolink’s product page.

Solar and battery realities
- A solar panel needs a suitable, relatively unobstructed position.
- Cloud, shade, winter conditions, temperature, motion volume, live viewing and recording settings affect charging and battery life.
- Solar assistance does not guarantee perpetual operation or uninterrupted 24/7 recording.
- Battery cameras are generally less suitable for continuous recording than wired cameras.
What the Home Hub adds
Reolink positions the Home Hub around local storage and management without a required monthly fee. The relevant listing says it can support up to eight Reolink IP cameras, but the standard Home Hub, Home Hub Mini and Home Hub Pro have different capacity and camera limits. Check the exact model at Reolink’s Home Hub store. “No monthly fees” does not eliminate the possible costs of a microSD card, networking, installation or replacement hardware.
The hub is not automatically required for every Argus PT Ultra installation. It is most useful when you want centralized storage and administration for several cameras. It also becomes a central point of failure and depends on a functioning home network.

CX810: a wired ColorX camera for PoE systems
The CX810 was presented as a 4K ColorX camera with an F1.0 aperture, person and animal detection, an integrated spotlight and a configurable siren. ColorX is intended to preserve more color in low light, but color performance depends on available light and supplemental illumination; it is not identical to daytime footage in complete darkness.
PoE requirements
PoE means Power over Ethernet. You need suitable Ethernet cabling and a compatible PoE switch, NVR or injector, plus a recorder or network arrangement that supports the camera. This is not a battery or plug-and-play wireless camera.

The $87.99 price and 20% discount were May 2025 claims. A current official CX810 price and availability were not verified, so do not infer that the old deal is still offered.

Were the discounts genuinely compelling?
The arithmetic was straightforward: $72 off the outdoor bundle, $22 off the CX810 and roughly $8 off the E1 based on the article’s approximate regular price. The more important comparison is the system you receive for the money and what it costs to make that system work.
Best Value

Recommended Free Tools
Choose by installation, not by the discount headline
Choose an E1-style camera when
- The camera stays indoors and an outlet is available.
- You need affordable pan-and-tilt coverage for one room.
- You accept that the $29.98 figure was time-limited.
Choose an Argus PT Ultra bundle when
- You need two outdoor viewpoints without running Ethernet.
- Your mounting locations receive enough sunlight for practical solar charging.
- You want centralized local storage and can accommodate a hub.
Choose a CX810 when
- You already operate a compatible PoE switch, NVR or injector.
- Wired power and potentially continuous recording matter more than portability.
- You can verify current compatibility and availability.
Buying checklist for any current Reolink listing
- Confirm the exact model, generation, resolution and wireless or wired standard.
- Read the “what’s included” section: camera count, solar-panel count, hub, power accessories and storage.
- Verify whether a microSD card is included and distinguish camera storage limits from hub storage limits.
- Match the power method to the location: outlet, battery/solar or PoE Ethernet.
- For outdoor use, check the stated weather rating and the real solar exposure at the mounting point.
- Check compatibility with existing Reolink cameras, NVRs, switches, app versions and firmware.
- Compare the actual checkout price, return policy and warranty rather than relying only on a crossed-out list price.
- Use a strong account password, current firmware and carefully limited sharing, especially when a hub centralizes several cameras.
Bottom line
Reolink’s Memorial Day 2025 promotion offered three different kinds of value rather than one universal bargain: the E1 was the cheap indoor option, the Argus PT Ultra kit was a two-camera solar outdoor system, and the CX810 was a discounted wired PoE upgrade. The sale ended May 25, 2025. In 2026, use the specifications and buying requirements above to evaluate a comparable listing, but confirm the exact bundle and checkout price before treating any discount as current.
