REI’s March 2026 Member Days sale ran from March 13 through March 23, so it has ended. The roundup below preserves the deals and prices WIRED reported during that event as historical snapshots—not current offers—and highlights what each item was suited for. Check REI’s current listing before buying: prices, stock, and product versions may have changed.
What REI Member Days offered in March 2026
REI described Member Days as an 11-day event, March 13–23, 2026. Its member offers included 20% off one full-price item and an extra 20% off one online Outlet item with code MEMBER26, both subject to terms. The promotion also included 40% off Campwell and Wonderland tents and footprints, 20% off one used Re/Supply item, selected bike-service offers, 50% off selected Outlet Flash Deals, and $100 off selected Intrepid Travel trips under specified booking and departure dates. These offers have expired; terms and exclusions applied. REI’s event announcement has the official details.
REI also said members would receive $200 million in annual Co-op Member Rewards. REI describes the annual reward as an estimated 10% back on eligible purchases made in the prior year; it is not a guaranteed discount on every purchase. That reward is separate from a sale coupon.

WIRED published its selection on March 18, 2026, and updated it during the month. Prices below are the figures shown in that coverage, not current quotes. “Coupon candidate” means the item was presented as eligible for the historical member coupon; the final discount depended on the offer’s terms.

For tents, match the design to your trip
A semi-freestanding tent such as the Mayfly Osmo requires staking at the foot end; a freestanding model such as the Dragonfly Osmo offers a different setup trade-off. Compare carried weight, interior space, number of occupants, and the conditions in which you will camp. A “two-person” label does not guarantee comfortable room for two people and their gear.

For sleeping pads, weigh warmth against packed size
The roundup spans a light foam pad, a bulky down-insulated winter pad, and an older Ether Light XT model. Consider the temperatures you expect, how much pack space you can spare, and whether the pad’s comfort suits you. Verify the model generation: a discount on a superseded version is not automatically the best value.
For jackets, start with the job
A waterproof shell, a synthetic insulated jacket, and a down sweater solve different problems. Compare intended activity, insulation type, fit, and layering needs before comparing markdowns. The historical prices do not establish which jacket is best for every wearer or current conditions.

For packs and camp equipment, check load and use
The Flash 22 was presented as a daypack for lighter loads, while the Flash Air 50 is a larger backpacking pack. The load comments in WIRED’s coverage are the author’s observations, not a universal carrying limit. For a stove, chair, or cooler, consider the weight and features you will actually use on your trips rather than treating the largest percentage reduction as the best buy.

What to check before buying now
- Confirm the current price, availability, and return terms on the retailer’s live product page; the figures above refer to March 2026 coverage.
- Check the exact model, size, gender version, and color. The Flash 22 offer was for print versions, the Beta SL price was for the men’s version, and the YETI deal had a color limitation.
- Do not assume MEMBER26 or any Member Days discount still works. The promotion ended March 23, 2026.
- Compare the product’s present model generation with the one named in the roundup, especially for the Ether Light XT.
