Redmond, Washington-based Ironwood Studios raised $4 million in seed funding to finance its next game, according to a February 11, 2026 report by GeekWire. Lifelike Capital led the round. The report does not identify the game or provide a release date, platforms, or gameplay details.

What the funding announcement says

GeekWire reported that the $4 million seed round is intended to support Ironwood’s next project. CEO and creative director Cassandra Dracott described the investment’s significance in a press release quoted by GeekWire: “This funding round points us towards the best version of that future and we’re thrilled to work alongside Lifelike Capital to make it a reality.”

The report does not disclose the company’s valuation, other investors, funding terms, team size, or how the money will be allocated. It also does not name Ironwood’s next game or state when it might arrive.

What Ironwood is known for

Ironwood is based in Redmond, in the Seattle area. Its released game, Pacific Drive, was published by Kepler Interactive and launched in February 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Set in 1998 in a science-warped part of the rural Pacific Northwest, Pacific Drive centers on keeping an old station wagon running: players repair and customize the car, scavenge parts, and evade environmental hazards. GeekWire notes that the game has no traditional combat.

How Pacific Drive has performed

GeekWire reported that Pacific Drive had passed 1.5 million units sold, citing an official Ironwood release. That is the company’s reported milestone, not an independently audited sales figure; the report does not specify the sales geography or provide a more exact count. It also says the game appeared on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

GeekWire separately reports that the paid expansion Whispers in the Woods was released in October, without specifying a year. It also says filmmaker James Wan acquired television rights to Pacific Drive in 2024; the report provides no further public information about a production or release.
