The call is attributed to analyst Simon Leopold. The $515 figure is an analyst estimate—not a promised future share price—and reflects a valuation framework using 22 times projected calendar 2028 earnings.
What Raymond James changed
The revised target is $163 higher than Raymond James’s previous $352 target. The firm kept its Strong Buy rating while raising the estimate, TipRanks reported on August 27, 2026. Yahoo Finance’s analyst listing showed the Raymond James target and rating dated August 28, 2026, a one-day difference in the dates shown by the two sources.
A price target is an analyst’s estimate of a possible share value over a forecast horizon. It is not a guarantee, a company commitment, or a prediction that the stock will reach that price. Actual trading prices can be higher or lower, and analysts can revise their estimates.
How the $515 target was valued
TipRanks says Leopold’s target applied a 22-times multiple to calendar 2028 earnings. In simplified terms, an earnings multiple expresses a valuation as a number of times forecast earnings. The resulting target depends on both the earnings forecast and the multiple chosen; either input can change. The original Raymond James research note was not available in the cited material, so its full forecast assumptions and risk disclosures are not established here.

What the reported thesis says about NVIDIA
TipRanks linked the analyst’s view to AI demand and NVIDIA’s fiscal second-quarter results and outlook. The article reported revenue of $96.2 billion, up 106% year over year, and also described supply constraints and hotter-than-expected memory pricing. Those figures and characterizations are reported by TipRanks; they have not been independently checked here against NVIDIA’s primary earnings materials, so they should not be read as a separate verification of the company’s release.
How the target compares with other analyst views
Yahoo Finance’s analyst listing displayed Raymond James at $515 with a Strong Buy rating, alongside targets from other firms at different levels. That makes $515 a firm-specific estimate, not an analyst consensus. Target comparisons are also point-in-time snapshots: firms may use different earnings forecasts, valuation methods, and time horizons, and the figures can change as new information arrives.

TipRanks’s article included a then-current consensus snapshot of a $323.37 average target and 42.15% implied upside. Those are time-sensitive figures attributed to that snapshot and were not independently recalculated, so they should not be treated as current consensus data.
