The service brings booking, company policy controls and expense workflows together; current Ramp guidance covers flights, hotels and rental cars. What employees can book, whether approval is needed and how changes are handled depend on company settings and the specific itinerary.
What Ramp announced—and what Priceline provides
Ramp’s June 6, 2024 announcement described Ramp Travel as the company’s entry into business travel booking. Priceline Partner Solutions supplied the travel-inventory relationship, while Ramp brought policy controls, expense automation and spend visibility into the booking workflow. Priceline’s announcement described inventory covering products in more than 116 countries at launch; that is a dated company statement, not a guarantee about what any particular Ramp search currently returns.
At launch, Ramp said employees could see in-policy flight and hotel options in one interface and book without extra booking fees. Ramp’s June 3, 2024 product article also described no platform fees regardless of users or trips. These are launch-era company claims; they should not be read as a guarantee that every fare, itinerary or booking channel is fee-free today. Ramp’s launch article
The launch release also reported that travel and entertainment represented 20% of annual card spend on Ramp, compared with about 10% in 2021, and that more than 25,000 businesses used Ramp. Those figures, as well as the release’s statements that customers cut expenses by an average of 5% and closed books 8x faster, were claims reported by Ramp or Priceline in 2024—not independently audited or current results.

How booking and expense management fit together
For employees booking in Ramp
Ramp’s current employee guide describes searching for flights, hotels and rental cars, reviewing booking and policy details, requesting approval when required, and managing trips in the My travel area. Employees should read the fare and cancellation terms displayed for their own booking: some reservations may be non-refundable.
For finance and travel administrators
Administrators can configure travel policies and approval requirements, including requiring approval for out-of-policy bookings or for all bookings. Ramp’s admin guide also describes controls for preferred hotels, negotiated rates, rental-car codes and enabling or disabling Ramp Travel bookings. The available controls and approval path therefore depend on the employer’s setup.

Companies can also connect travel booked elsewhere
Ramp’s travel workflow is not limited to bookings made through Ramp. Its off-platform booking guide describes matching travel receipts to transactions and extracting itinerary details. It lists Corporate Traveler and TravelPerk as direct integrations for managed travel providers.

This distinction matters when evaluating fit: Ramp Travel handles booking within Ramp, while an off-platform workflow can help a company keep expense records and itinerary details connected when it uses another travel provider. Ramp says managed travel solutions are most suitable when company-wide travel spend is significant. The documentation does not provide a neutral head-to-head comparison of providers.

- Policy and approvals: Confirm which bookings require approval, what counts as out of policy and whether preferred suppliers or negotiated rates are configured.
- Available itinerary and terms: Do not assume all Priceline inventory or rates appear in every Ramp search. Check the actual fare rules, hotel cancellation policy and rental terms before booking.
- Fees: Treat no-fee statements as claims made in the 2024 launch materials, not as a blanket promise covering every current booking or itinerary.
- Changes and support: Support routes can vary by booking type. Ramp’s employee guide says rental-car changes may require contacting Priceline directly; consult the current instructions for the specific reservation.
- Existing travel arrangements: If the company already books through a managed provider, check whether the documented off-platform integrations and receipt workflows meet its needs.
For context, Ramp’s June 2024 CEO Eric Glyman said integrating booking could reduce travel-related busywork and bloat. That is the company’s rationale for the product, not independent proof of results. Priceline’s launch announcement
