The Ramp Card can be worth considering if your approved business wants employee spending controls, receipt capture and connected expense workflows—and can pay its balance in full each month. It is not a revolving credit card, and its rewards rate is variable rather than a guaranteed 1.5% cash back. Whether it fits depends on your eligibility, the rate and terms Ramp offers your company, and the value of its expense-management tools.
What is the Ramp Card?
Ramp describes its product as a Visa-network corporate charge card embedded in a financial operations platform. A business can issue physical and virtual cards to employees and set spending limits and controls. The wider platform includes spend policies, transaction visibility, receipt matching, accounting workflows and vendor or procurement tools. See Ramp’s corporate card overview.
The distinction between a charge card and a conventional credit card matters: Ramp’s Help Center says the full balance is due by the payment deadline. It is not designed to let a business carry a balance from month to month. Ramp says the company is responsible for the card balance, rather than the employee using a card. Its corporate-card help page also says card activity is not reported to personal credit bureaus, so using the card does not build an employee’s personal credit.
Who can qualify for the Ramp Card?
Ramp markets the card to businesses, not individuals. It says approved companies can issue employee cards without a personal guarantee, and that business financial factors inform limit decisions. Approval and the terms offered are not guaranteed.

NerdWallet’s 2026 review reports a $25,000 minimum bank balance, primarily U.S. operations and spending, and no minimum annual revenue or time in business. Treat those as independent screening information reported by NerdWallet—not a universal or independently confirmed Ramp approval rule. Check NerdWallet’s review and confirm current requirements directly with Ramp before applying.
What does the Ramp Card cost?
Ramp advertises no annual fee for the card. Its Help Center says the card has no late fees, interest or card replacement fees. Those statements concern card costs; they do not mean that every Ramp platform feature or related service is free. Ramp’s pricing page lists Free, Plus and Enterprise plans, with features varying by plan and Enterprise pricing depending on business needs. Its pricing overview distinguishes card fees from fees for other services.

Before deciding, compare the plan features your workflows require and review the proposed customer agreement for total costs. The plan comparison shows that some advanced controls, travel functions and support options depend on the plan, so do not assume every workflow is included at no cost.
How much cash back does Ramp give?
There is no fixed rewards rate established for every Ramp customer. NerdWallet reported in 2026 that Ramp told it in June 2026 the rate ranges from 0% to 1.5%, without disclosing fixed rates by tier. That is a report of Ramp’s statement at that time, not a guaranteed or permanent rate for every business. Ask Ramp what rate your company would receive and compare it with the rewards rules that apply to your account.

Ramp’s Rewards Terms, last updated September 22, 2026, say Ramp determines reward rates and amounts and may change or eliminate them. The terms also exclude various transactions from earning rewards, including foreign and non-USD transactions, cash withdrawals, prepaid cards and cash equivalents, fees, refunds, returns, and disputed or unauthorized transactions. Rewards may be forfeited if the account is not in good standing. Cashback credits are not cash paid to the business; they must be redeemed against eligible amounts owed to Ramp.
For a realistic comparison, base the value on your company’s offered rate and eligible spending—not the top of a reported range. Account for excluded purchases, redemption restrictions and the possibility that rates may change.

When is the Ramp Card worth it?
It may fit a business with employee spending to manage
Ramp is most compelling when multiple employees make purchases and administrators need card-level limits, transaction visibility, receipt collection and accounting workflows. Those controls can make a business’s spending easier to oversee, especially when the relevant features integrate with its existing accounting process. Check the current Ramp corporate card comparison and plan details to confirm which tools are available to your company.
It is a poor fit if you need to carry a balance
Because the balance must be paid in full by the due date, the Ramp Card is not a solution for financing expenses over time. A business that needs revolving credit should compare products that explicitly offer it and evaluate their APRs and repayment terms.

- Handy index cards provide a simple format for logging an animal's vaccination information, birth date, grooming notes, special instructions

It may not suit a business focused mainly on rewards
If your company has few employee transactions and primarily wants to maximize rewards, a conventional business credit or charge card may be easier to compare on a stable, published earning rate. Ramp’s rewards rate can vary, and its terms limit which transactions qualify. Ramp’s issuer-authored comparison names Ink Business Unlimited and American Express Blue Business Cash; NerdWallet also discusses Capital One Spark Cash Plus for high-spend businesses. Treat these as starting points, then verify current rates, fees and conditions with each issuer.
How to compare Ramp with alternatives
Before choosing, compare the dimensions that affect your company’s actual cost and day-to-day use:
Quick Recap
- Repayment: Is the full balance due, or can your business carry a balance? If it can, what APR and fees apply?
- Eligibility and liability: What financial criteria apply, is a personal guarantee required, and who is responsible for the balance?
- Rewards: What rate is offered to your company, which purchases qualify, and how can rewards be redeemed?
- Total cost: Include card fees, platform subscriptions and fees for related services.
- Operations: Are employee issuance, spending controls, receipt workflows and accounting integrations useful—and included in the plan you would use?
- International spending: Check the current card agreement for foreign-currency treatment and fees. Ramp’s rewards terms exclude foreign and non-USD transactions, so do not assume international purchases earn rewards.
