In an Instagram statement issued on October 5, 2026, Singh said the search was not pertaining to her, according to Hindustan Times. The outlet quoted her as saying: “The search was not pertaining to me.”
She also said: “I am not involved in any kind of illegal foreign remittance in personal capacity or on behalf of any Production house.” Singh denied holding benami property for anyone in India or abroad. She said nobody had gifted her property and that, as a matter of principle, she does not accept expensive gifts. She urged outlets publishing what she called false, malicious and speculative reports to retract them. These are her denials, not independent findings about her tax compliance or property.
What did reports say about the search?
Hindustan Times and DT Next reported that searches took place at 12 locations in Mumbai on September 28, 2026. The outlets linked those locations to Singh, film producer Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios. They described the reported inquiry context as suspected financial irregularities and alleged movement of funds overseas under the guise of film financing.

The figure of 12 locations and the reported links and suspicions are details attributed to media coverage; they do not establish that Singh was personally searched or that anyone committed wrongdoing. Income Tax Department updates surfaced for this article did not include a statement confirming this operation or its scope. That limited absence is not proof that no official statement exists elsewhere.
